I have bought a mobile phone off them for about 200GBP. Phone never arrived (3 months now) and they have
been consistently lying to me and treating me like a moron. I have started proceedings with the Lancashire
police (pressing charges) but as I understand eCell have done this to many people. I therefore put together
this forum in order to bring us together and organise a class action against them that would really give them
the lesson they deserve.

Here is my story (the text of my, unfortunately untimely, paypal dispute as well as one of my last emails to them)

Dispute entry

I have now exhausted every reasonable means of resolving this without involving third parties.
The sad fact remains that, after patiently waiting for two months and contacting you multiple times,
you abusively keep withholding my money while the product was never sent, nor have you any proof of
postage.

For the first month you kept deceiving me, vehemently claiming that the product was sent while it
obviously was not (and I challenge you to provide postage proof if indeed it was). During the second
month you have repeatedly claimed to have provided me with a refund - alas a refund that has yet to appear.
All in all I have found your practices to be extremely unprofessional and maybe more importantly shameful;
especially when one takes into account the fact that you are representatives of the UK in the international
market.

I am hoping that you will settle this very soon. If not I will be forced to pursue all legal means available
to me - whether at a UK or EU level. Please note that I will be doing this primarily as a matter of principle.

email text

predictably the item did not arrive this time either.

I am now in the process of filing a complaint with the Blackpool police against a Murat Celikkol. I will also
be telling the police about how you abuse your bulk mail account reference numbers in order to deceive customers
into believing that you have sent items that you have indeed not sent. I will also be writing to Royal Mail directly
regarding this.

Further, I will be setting up a forum and inviting there all the people you have defrauded on ebay so that we can proceed
with class action against you. I will also be taking up your case through European Commission channels and forwarding the
complaint regarding your practices to the chamber of commerce and other relevant UK based organisations.

n6rdh has sent a question eBay item 14-136804

I can fully support the above victim, yes we are victims, I have had and still experiencing the same poor trading from eCell, do everyone a favour and avoid eCell at all times.

You will get countless emails about funds still need to be cleared when "Paypal" have verified payment, luckily if you use PayPal you can appeal through the Resolution Centre and suggest this method first.

Join us to get eCell kicked off eBay

Ecell - ebay

ECell

Hi,

Yes I have had the very same expereinces in dealing with this company / individual.

I purchased a Nokia E71 for £259.00 plus 1st Class Postage at £5.00 on 04/June/09. The first indication that something was not correct was this nonsense about waiting for clearance of the funds having paid through PayPal using my usual credit card. I have purchased in this manner over the past few years and payment has been cleared instantly. I checked with PayPal / EBay and once you have payment verification by email, the seller has received the funds on their account. Thus, any suggestion that ECell are awaiting clearance of funds is simply false.

I immediately commenced emails to them advising that there statements on payment were incorrect and that they should immeditely dispatch the phone as I was travelling overseas on business and required the phone. (I had paid sufficiently in advance of travelling to allow 2 weeks for the phone to arrive). At least I received responses by email and each time from a (allegedly)different female or at least someone using a different name. Lots of apologies for the dealy, prevarication and nonsense about awaiting payment clearance. Then an email was issued about the length of time postage could take, that there wer no guarantees as the item would be in the hands of the Royal Mail. At that point, I thought the game was up as they would give a false tracking number and somehow the item would be "lost".

In fact they stated by email that after 2 weeks from having been actually paid through PayPal, they were dispatching the item (18/June/09). By this time I was overseas. They gave a tracking number which was not recognized by the Royal Mail.

For reasons that are as yet unclear, the phone arrived 2 days later (20/June/09). It works and is exactly as described in their ad. The package states an address in Blackpool although I wonder if this really exists. I can only assume that I received the phone due to the number of emails I issued to them with the threat of full legal action being taken through my firm for breach of contract and suing them for damages.

One last point. They have a circa 98% Rating but when you look at this in detail, the positive feedback is almost entirely in respect of items that cost £0.99 to a few pounds. All the negative feedback (and there are hundreds of serious complaints of fraud each month) are on the large value items, especially with cell phones.

EBay need to be condemned for lack of action over this seller as they should be taking the lead here and not leaving it to buyers organizing a class action. In any event, something should be done about ECell and not just having them removed but police action and criminal proceedings for the regular fraud the commit.

Please keep me posted on developments and I will help all that I can.

Good luck
Ken

Hi Ken

Thank you for your comment and support. Everything you say rings dreadfully familiar to my ears. These people are a menace. I will keep inviting victims of ecell to this forum. Once we are a dozen or so of individuals as committed as you an me we will be strong enough, I think, to really nail eCell to the wall.

BTW, I finally got a refund thanks to my bank's fraud department that refunded the money directly to my credit card (5 months after original purchase); ecell never sent the phone and never refunded me directly.

So, like I have said before, this is not the end for me as it simply is not about the money anymore. I feel this obligation to try and stop this criminal behaviour that brings frustration and stress to so many; together I am sure we will be able to.

Ecell sucks

I bought A phome for 114 pound and it never came I send so many email asking what happent and no answer.
I make a case in paypal at 17 June and I received a refun at 18. The funny is that ecell report this item as unpayed in ebay at 18 june, after the refund.

Ecell sucks

I bought again a phone from my wife accound in ebay that has 0% feedback. The wrote me after 5 days thas the will refund the money in 5 days because I have 0% feedback. Pass almost a month and nothing. I make a case in Paypal and a got the mone back the next day.

E-cel Phone

Said they were a UK company but when I emailed I got an automated reply from hong Kong.
P{aid £274 for Sony but Phone never arrived however I got my money back from Ebay thankfully

They are a UK company!

Hi Dave,

I have heard this before by others but I can assure you that they are indeed UK based - although maybe affiliated or otherwise related (parent-subsidiary) to an omonymous Hong Kong based company.

On ebay you can request the physical person identity and address behind a seller alias. In the case of e_cell that is "Murat Celikkol" in Blackpool. Sure, this may still be a made-up name that somehow ebay has accepted as real but in this case I know for a fact that "Murat Celikkol" is a real person, is based in Blackpool and is indeed behind the e_cell scam.

How do I know? I do because after I filed an online money claim using HMCS's MCOL service (Her Majesty's Court Service, Money Claim OnLine) he promptly replied in writing, signing his name as "Company Director" of e_cell.

So, we actually have a UK based physical person to direct our legal action to.

Murat Celikkol

I ordered and recieved a Nokia mobile from e-cell. The phone's backplate was falling off and it didn't work right, I contacted them and was told to take photos of the phone, they then told me to send it back, which I did. I then received an email saying I had broken the phone by using it too much, I had it 7 days!!!! They told me that they woul;d send it back to me, I informed them that I wouldn't be at home and needed the phone to be refunded. They sent it anyway about 3 weeks later. I refused to sign for it and it went back. I sent them an email asking for my money back or I would tale action via ebay! I received a harassing, blackmailing email from the above mentioned guy, telling me if I wouldn't keep quiet he would take me to the European Court for fraud......I am living in Portugal at the moment!
Anyway I got my money back from paypal and haven't heard anymore. I wished I had really studied e-cell's feedback, all I can say, don't buy from them. The phone that I got was a Chinese import to UK....poor quality. If this is going to court I will be happy to let you use the email he sent me.

Thanks

Hello Heidi and thanks for the info. Yes, this guy is a menace to society. I will get back to you over email by the end of this month or begining of the next. Cheers!

I received a phone from them

I received a phone from them but after contacting them about returning it, I did. This was in January of this year and I am still waiting for a refund. I have got proof of posting and therefore proof of delivery. They have confirmed in one of their many emails that they have received the phone but I still have not had a refund. I played the nicely nicely card but I have now just sent them an email saying that I will involve the police if my money is not refunded - daylight robbery!!!!

E-cel phone

Paid £274 for sony phone but never arrived
said they were a UK company but when I emailed them I got an automated response from hong Kong.
However, I did get a refund from Ebay

ECELL PHONES

i have recently ordered a phone last week on tuesday 14th july, and till today i have recieved nothing, not even an email regarding the delivery of the item. i know its been only about 8 days, shall i make a paypal dispute now??? or shall i wait more... nd c if i get anything.? pls help

wait a week then start a dispute

wait a week then start a dispute, especially if you are given a Royal Mail tracking reference number that, when checked with the Royal Mail tracking service, returns "no info" for more than two consecutive business days. If this turns sour come join us. Most likely you will get reimbursed eventually if you keep alert. This group is about getting back at them for the frustration they have caused us.

ecell

i got a phone eventually after 4 weeks off him but had to complain to ebay and paypal to get it. he then said i hadnt paid for it which paypal knew i had. i was after a ipod and saw 1 but he was the seller so i stayed well clear. this company should not be allowed to operate he is a con man and should be avoided even for the smallest items.

it is a crime

when you repeatedly and systematically deceive consumers it becomes a crime. Indeed, they are conmen.

E-cell

I baught a phone from these people and never recieved it. I got a refund after raising a case with Pay-Pal. If you read their feedback, you will see that nearly all of the phones they try to sell either never arive or arive very late. I believe that they source phones after people have ordered them. I dont know if this is illegal but it is definatly unethical. This company (weather UK based or not) should be banned from Ebay at the very least. Ebay really need to look into this company with a view to protecting its users. Shamefull!

it is illegal

it is illegal to sell phones with the intention of not delivering them unless forced. This is what they do; it is not even sourcing after sale. They got a plan and that is, make a profit out of people who just write off the money they paid.

TRACKING number....

TODAY, ecell sent me an email that my payment was processed, and the item was dispatched. i have checked the tracking number and it returns no information about any delivery, but it says:

" Recorded Signed For™ items are only tracked after the item has been delivered. Depending on whether the item was sent first or second class, this may be a few days after posting. Please try again later.
Information on your item is not yet available online. "

I am not sure what to do.. i might get the phone...?

Typical

If this continues for more than 2 business days my advice is to start an eBay dispute. Good luck and remember: if you get ripped off (or just frustrated) come back and declare your interest in being part of the class action against e_cell. We can really make this guy bitterly regret this shameful practice.

yea, i will

yea, i will

Ive sent them email regarding

Ive sent them email regarding that tracking number, and this is what they said:

" Thank you so much for informing us about this matter and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this matter has caused you.

A check on our record shows that the item was posted out last 23-Jul-09. Please be advised that delivery takes 8-14working days. Due to some circumstances that are unavoidable, Royal Mail declares 15 working day delivery policy which will be from despatch date. You should be receiving the item on or before 12-Aug-09. We assure you that the item was despatched on time however, there are instances that we cannot avoid during shipping and handling as we function separately from the courier service. Unfortunately at this time Royal Mail cannot provide you full track and trace facilities from the point of sale to the delivery. Thus it may show on Royal Mail's site that the information is unavailable for this exact reason.

If in any case you did not receive the item on the said date, contact us back and you can be assured that appropriate actions will be done.

Kind regards,

Julie "

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i think its time to make the dispute?..i ordered an item on 14th july, i get it on 12th august, one month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the kind of emails everyone gets

You may receive it and you may not receive it. If you don't start a dispute you probably will not get it - so, I suggest you go ahead and start it; all the stuff they say about how Royal Mail operates is false anyway. It is all part of the scam.

i decided that i will go for

i decided that i will go for the dispute, what do i say in the dispute...? any advice, shall i make it like the one uve wrote..?

I have made a dispute

I have made a dispute requesting for my money back, and this is what they said:

"We understand that you are anxious to receive your item. After checking, your item was dispatched on 23/07/09
We are positive that you will be receiving this item within the next 2-5business days. Thank you for your usual cooperation and patience regarding this matter. Let us know how the item turns out. Once you have received the item would you please close the PayPal dispute and leave positive which will be returned in kind. As we have dedicated and well informed staff to answer any of your concerns so do not hesitate to contact as again. As we'll continue to serve you to the best of our abilities.
Regards"

This is actually annoying me, cos in their recent reply which i have wrote in my last post in this site, it stated that will get it before or on 12th August. But now they say it will get to me in the next 2-5 business days. I have also asked them for a refund and they said we cant give ur money bak, as the item ordered is already posted, and on its way to you. please help

opening the dispute

having opened the dispute early, greatly increases your chances of actually receiving the item. I suggest, you immediately ask for a postage tracking reference number. If they have indeed posted the item , the Royal Mail's tracking page should have some acknowledgement under that ref number in a couple of business days. If not, he's shitting you.

don't you all see a trend here?

I saw a cracking deal for a Nokia e75 on one of their ebay listings. It was a red version of the phone which is not available anywhere in the UK for the price they listed, so I immediately switched myself to "buy" mode. I did however want to call them to ask them why they listed that it will ship in 7-10 days and why it takes between 8 to 10 days to deliver the item, so I call their customer support number on their listing. Find out they only operate until 3PM on weekedays. Thats weird, why would anyone do that? Anyways, I call this morning and get through to a female with an oriental american accent. I ask about the phone and she confirms that its in stock. I ask about why it takes so long to ship, she says its because they wait for payment to clear as there is so much internet fraud going on these days, and they need to assure that the buyer is genuine. I didnt buy that and argued that I am paying with paypal and there is a buyer and seller protection that should sort any issues out, to which she responds that it is their company policy. Then I ask a succession of questions and tried to derail her, where are you based right now? Are all your phones coming from China or something? Why do you have an American accent? Does everything you sell take this long to ship out? Do you have any other online stores apart from ebay? She responds calmly to all questions and says that their warehouse is in Blackpool, she is based in the UK (which I dont beleive), all high value items like mobile phones, games consoles and the lot take this long and she just picked up the American accent in school. Anyways, I thank her and slam the phone without saying bye.

I then did a google search and landed on this page. All your comments have clearly confirmed my assumptions and wanted to highlight the trends here.

The company is registered in Blackpool and import all the cheap stuff in bulk from their suppliers in Hong Kong. They probably only have about 3 to 5 people working there to process and ship out all their cheap stuff sold on ebay.

Their customer support is routed to Hong Kong as its dirt cheap getting a 5 person call centre in Hong Kong. The opening hours 8AM to 3PM is in line with opening hours in Hong Kong.

The high value items are all sourced from Hong Kong but they dont order bulk quantities. This is probably done because a single item may pass through customs without raising any alarms and possibly goes through without any customs duties on them as they are classified as printed paper or staple pins or something that is duty free.

The item is shipped from hong kong via snail mail, which is why they cant commit to a delivery date.

I was lucky enough to spot all the inconsistancies with their offerings but not everyone will be. This needs to be made public and raised with ebay, paypal and Blackpool police. There needs to be transparency in business dealings in the UK. If they are infact sourcing it from another country, they need to say which country the phone is coming from so that they can manage customer expectations etc etc.

If you wish to confirm my assumption, please feel free to call their customer support number 0871 2000499 before 3PM and ask all the questions I did.

You are probably safe buying low value items from them, stay away if you want to purchase anything above £50.

Thanks for the info

thank you for all the valuable information. I am happy that this page is coming up in related Google searches as it may help potential victims escape the e_cell claws.

I have contacted ebay, paypal and ther Blackpool police (see rest of posts in this forum). Blackpool police will not deal with something if it is not criminal, and they consider this a civil case. However, if we were to jointly file a case with them (say 10 of us), claiming the same type of misconduct they could very well view it as a criminal case.

In any case this forum is dedicated to raising awareness about e_cell and eventually bringing together enough dedicated individuals who are willing to give just a tad of their time in order to bring these scammers down. We can first jointly file a case with the police and then, if not enough, go for class action.

Cheers!

Tracking number probably not genuine

Dear all,

I think I'm in the process of being conned by these guys. I paid for my order on 25th July, they claim it was dispatched on 5th Aug - I had to ask for the tracking number. I got the number next day, but track & trace using it claims:

Special Delivery™ Next Day items are first tracked when they have reached our mail centre. This may be late in the evening on the day the item was sent.
Information on your item is not yet available online.

So I suspect that the item isn't really on its way.

I will wait until Monday and if the goods haven't arrived I'll take up the dispute with ebay and request a refund.

Cheers.

good idea

yeah, you are probably being conned and you should start the dispute as soon as possible. Good luck and come back here if you decide to take part in the calss action we are preparing against e_cell

ordered from ecell, phone not arrived

Hi there,

reading this post, think i ay have been scammed orded a iphone 3gs from ecell 29/07/09, finnaly got confirmation of it being supposedly posted on 07/08/09 after i pointed out it had been 7 days. they have since sent me a tracking code for roayl mail but it just keep son saying come back latter. i have rang royal mail and they are suggesting it possibly has not been posted as this is a bulk roll number. Should i start a complainy through paypal now or wait a couple of days? There telephone service is awful, as they just advise the tracking site on royal mail will only show up a staus once it has been deliveerd and signed for this is clearly not true. these guys should not be allowed on ebay at all! paid £699 so a lot of money to mess around with!!

start a dispute immediately

You should start a dispute immediately. They are clearly trying to scam you.

ordered from ecell, phone not arrived

ok, with regards to my last thread i ordered a iphone from e_cell, they have provided a tracking number today, and guess what it is showing as delivered but to an address i do not recognise and not even in the right city! i have finnaly raised a dispute with paypal today, and will escalate tomorrow should i not get a refund!! for anyone thinking of ordering from these cowboys do not they are dodgy and clearly fraudlent supplying fake tracking number claiming to post items when they have not!! i just hope i get my £699 back ASAP. Any assitance from you folks who have been through this before is appreciated

Good luck

yes, make ebay and paypal disputes (you have 45 days since order date) and also consider contacting your credit card bank's fraud department. It is only the latter that worked for me (alas 5 months later).

e_cell need to be removed from ebay ASAP

Hi,

I am so glad i have found this tread as i am very angry with e_cell and they should be removed from ebay immediately, let me tell you my story.....

In May last year i purchase a nokia White N82 from them, it cost me over £300. Lucky i did receieve it but there was a delay on delivery and i paid express delivery too. Anyway the phone was working i did notice there were japanese or chinese writing in some of the software but i didn't think much of this as you could imagine new phone very excited at the time.... As we came to last week round about August 14th 2009, I was speaking to a friend of mine on my home phone and i asked her to ring me on my mobile as she has free credit and would be cheaper..... to my surpise she was unable to get through to my mobile but she tried a few more times but it kept saying calls are not currently connecting to this number. i tried this myself a few times and the same was happening so i decided to contact my service provider T-Mobile and then found out i couldn't even dial out the 150 speed dial number for them as it was saying calls are not allowed so i had to ring them from my home phone. When i finally got in contact with them they said everything seemed to be ok buttttttt? your phone could be BLACKLISTED!!!! At this point i nearly cried :)
As t-mobile didn't seem sure about this i went to carphone warehouse where they have a technician from nokia who can try to fix the problem. After 2 days i was able to pick my phone up and the nokia people said they had updated the software which might of been the problem so i tried and guess what? it was still the same i explained to the guy at nokia and he suggested it could be blacklisted also noting that e_cell could be selling stolen goods or insurance claims and then they are being blacklisted nearly a year on. When i spoke to T-mobile they had aslo commented that my phone had been purchase in Hong Kong they could tell this by typing in the IMEI number.

Today i have tried contacting e_cell, finding there live chat service does not work and is constantly busy. The telephone number they supply just keeps ringing although someone did answer but no speaking and then a lady answered after a number of no speaking telephone calls with a funny American accent, I would say but i could hear chinese or japanese people in the background. As she was quite pleasant but was unable to understand me alot of the times i explained to her my problem as soon as i said blacklisted the phone went dead as if the phone call was disconnected, which was really fustrating and made me very agry as you could imagine :( i did try calling back but the phone either kept ringing or someone at the other end put an answer machine on or it rang and then a busy dial tone suddenly sounded.

As a result of my experience with this company i would tell all customers not to use them as they can not be trusted. they may have so many good feedbacks but dont take this for granted bare in mind they have alot of bad feedbacks about how long customers have had to wait for there item. I have seen a tread about a guy who says this company are saying they are in manchester but are not and are in a different county maybe Hong Kong or China? this i can believe.

As i paid over £300 for a phone from this company i did not expect it to be not working having only a year usage out of it but not only that its now blacklisted this means someone has reported a mobile phone i bought from them as stolen i may as well of burnt £300 away.

I beg and plead with all you mobile phone lovers or even if you are thinking of buying off this company, please dont they are bad news and they need to be removed from ebay and cant understand why they have not yet.....

very sad

I really feel for you Crystal. What these people are doing, playing with our expectations like that is definitely criminal. They not only need to be removed from ebay, they need to be prosecuted. I will email you when the time has come to begin organising for class action against them. I hope you can join us.

E_cell

Thanks Fotios, I really hope you and us the victims, can do something about this company but as I was saying they could be in a different company how are we able to prosecute them if this is a fact? I have been on to T-Mobile, the police and other network providers and it just seems i am going round in circles. Let me know, if there is anything we can do to stop this company, FULL STOP!

yes we can!

yes we can prosecute because the company does exist, is UK based and there is an actual UK based person behind it. Read here

What can I do to help

Reading these comments I feel almost relieved that I actually received a phone (after a very lengthy wait). However it has a problem with the front cover and I'm currently waiting for their reply as to how they are going to fix this. I've still got a record of all the email correspondance and I'm happy to add my comments to ebay or whoever if it'll help? I'll keep you posted on the phone.

Good luck

Good luck Kate! I will contact you when it is time to take collective action against e_cell.

e_cell fake

I have bought phone from this seller: BRAND NEW UNLOCKED SAMSUNG I8000 OMNIA 2 8GB BLACK UK (Item number:200375379127) having paid 1/09/09 through PayPal. In 5 days without having received from it acknowledgement of sending of item, has written it on an e-mail where my item? On what has received the answer: that with a view of safety clearing of the account till 7 working days is required! Though has occupied it whole 10 (!) Days. Have sent point to me 10/09/09, given out to me TrackID to RoyalMail, does not work (constantly shows – to return later) though has already passed from the moment of sending of 20 days! I live in Estonia it is EU, and from UK so cannot long be delivered! On my questions: why does not work TrackID? E_cell answered that RoyalMai does not give track and trace service, but only the fact of delivery to a place! To mine it is a deceit! My letters E_cell always quickly answers, and different girls in the signature, BUT usually it simply (bla-bla) formal replies, and not concrete answers! 30/09/09 has opened dispute in PayPal, 1/10/09 answer from E_cell: Our apologies for you have not received this item you BRAND NEW UNLOCKED SAMSUNG I8000 OMNIA 2 8GB BLACK UK you ordered from our company. It seems it was lost in the post. We will give you an option if you want a replacement or refund. You response is highly appreciated. I have answered money back, I will wait!

This is what they do

Your story is typical. This is how these scammers operate. It is completely untrue what they say about Royal Mail tracking; it will give you an update even when they fisrt pick up the parcel and not just when they deliver it. Murat Celikkol, who is behind e_cell, is quite simply an indecent scoundrel.

e-cell refund

At last I have got a refund from E-cell sat down, have paid practically at once. But that is strange, еBay has cleaned from mine My eBay data about purchases and I cannot write now feedback! And so it would be desirable to impair a little a rating to this seller!
So I with you!

Reason for request: The seller says that you have returned or will be returning the item for a refund.
Additional information from seller:

How would you like to respond?
# I accept the seller's request to cancel this transaction.
# I decline the seller's request to cancel this transaction.

Now is it just a formality close the deal?
Or he wants to take my money that I come back (refund)? Help please, I not understand!

depends

if you have indeed received your refund, meaning that you can see them money is back in your paypal account or credit card then all is good and you may cancel the transaction; I don't know whether you have actually received an item or not that you intend to return to e_cell. If not, then you may close the transaction, possibly leaving a note somewhere that you have never received an item. If yes, then just close the transaction and return the item at your convenience. Good luck!

Hi guys,Really glad I saw

Hi guys,

Really glad I saw this page before I bought from E_Cell! Was going to spend £250 on an E71 from them but thought something was a bit odd.

I would urge everyone to contact Michael Jack MP who represents Fylde where their warehouse is (Elcell Communications Ltd, Unit 11, Olympic Court, Boardmans Way, Whitehills Business Park, Blackpool, FY4 5GU - although shows fields on Google Maps!) using the details below. Ideally one of his constituents should make contact but, either way, I'm sure he would be shocked to realise these crooks are operating right under his nose. He has a really safe seat so appealing to his sense of decency would be the best method, however, just to make sure also contact his opponents Liam Robinson and Prof. Bill Winlow. Furthermore, contact his local papers, Lancashire Evening Post, The Gazette and The Citizen, and the local radio, Wave 96.5, who I'm sure would be very keen to follow this story.

Since E_cell is the 3rd biggest UK seller on E-bay, BBC Watchdog and Radio 4's "You and Yours" could be interested? You should contact Liz Barclay at You and Yours who is looking for stories like this.

You ALL need to kick up a fuss by contacting these people in order to stop these b**tards. The louder you shout the more likely it is people will take notice. Using the law will be an expensive waste of time I am afraid.

Good luck!

I'm glad I read this page. An MP with a sense of decency. I'll be laughing all weekend now. Thanks for that!

I just want to say thank you

I just want to say thank you so much to everyone who has posted warnings on this page - i was about to buy a phone from e cell but thought i would do a quick check to see if anyone had had problems with the company. Obviously a lot of people have! I'm sure there must be plenty of others like me who have seen your posts and been saved from getting ripped off by these con men. Thank you for the warnings, i really hope you all get your money back and e cell are forced out of business by bad publicity.

I too got caught by these guys.. but just about got away

Hi,
2 weeks ago, I ordered a HTC Hero from our friends e_cell and like many of you got no emails indicating postage etc.. then I checked the web and was shocked what I found. Silly me for not doing this earlier. I'll never make that mistake again.

I immediately emailed them to ask where the phone was. They replied indicating that it had not yet been posted. So I requested a cancellation and opened a paypal dispute to ensure that I got refunded. They agreed and within 2 days the funds were refunded and paypal closed the dispute. The only annoyance was that Paypal applied their own Sterling->Euro conversions when they issued the refund and I'm now down about €18. I can live with that.. I blame myself for not researching this more before I committed to buying from them.

In my Paypal dispute I detailed that these guys are well known scammers and its commonly known that they are faking their own feedback. If you check, they average over 20,000 positive feedback entries per month. But get 250+ negative feedback per month and 150+ neutral feedback posts (mostly from refunded buyers).

Who sells 20000 items from their ebay shop per month?.. thats a huge movement of items and its no doubt the feedback is faked.. if you scroll down you through their feedback, you will see the same user pass feedback for different items, often in the same second and he will continually appear in other days. Day on day, they typically get 18-20 negative posts and are clearly adding their own fake feedback to play with the numbers and keep as close to 100% as possible. They seem to hold constantly at 98%.

Then just this week I received a strike from Ebay commenced by e_cell on the grounds that I didn't pay for an item I bought from them. All this after they agreed to refund me!

Ebay closed this immediately, stating that it was my first ever strike and please be a good boy in future. This completely enranged me because it shows for sure that ebay has its head well lodged up its arse. How could they not realise that this guy is playing with their feedback and scamming people every day?

I've made a very angry complaint to ebay and will not let this go until they acknowledge that this asshole is scamming and needs to be removed. I'll call their call center if necessary to get them to admit this guy is scamming.

hello

Hi and thanks for the info. An easier way to directly take care of these scammers would be to launch a joint complaint (say 20 of us) with the Blackpool police. I've tried it alone but they said that just one person's complaint could not make them treat this as a criminal investigation (it is just a civil case). However, a joint complaint by a number of people could elevate this to a criminal case and Mr. Murat Celikkol would then have to appear in front of a criminal court. I will email you when I organise this effort if you're interested. Did you leave your email when you wrote the comment? It won't show publicly, just to me.

ECELL PHONE PROBLEM

Hi,
So glad you have set up this forum. Have been in contact with e cell today about a phone problem. I too purchased a phone from them in May and after waiting 6 weeks finally got the phone after the same lie that it too had been lost in the post! Had issues primarilly with sending picture messages because all the settings were in chinese but luckily had a great contact at sony eriksson who fixed this for me. Problem now is that after 4 months of having the phone it is now not working. On the advert on ebay it advises 1 year warranty so I called ecell who advised me that I had to send directly to sony eriksson for repair. I did this end of last month and attached the paypal receipt as proof of purchase. Sony eriksson wrote to me to advise that the phone was unrepairable and that they could not exchange for a new phone as no valid proof of purchase (ebay paypal receipt is not a valid proof of purchase!) So I immediatelly called e cell last Thurs 15th October, spoke to Grace who seemed to know what I needed which was a vat registered receipt from the warehouse. Great I thought! She told me I would get this either same day or by Friday 16th via email. Nothing received by Saturday so called again and got Joy who just kept repeating the same phrase " it is not our responsability and we are still waiting for feedback from the warehouse" I got quite annoyed and asked to be put through to Grace and quelle surprise she was on a break. Joy advised me it takes 3 working days to get the feedback so I waited again and called today. Couldn't get through immediatelly (line rang then went dead)so I tried live chat and got through to grace! Didnt get to type what I needed so called the number and got through to someone who sounded very much like Joy - 20mins argueing with her as she kept telling me to be patient and that they cannot do anything they have to wait for this feedback. I kept explaining that the phone would be disposed and that I am now out of pocket and how long should I wait for this? Asked her to put me through to grace and was advised that grace had already left for the day even though she was on live chat! Got this girls name as Celine and I too questioned where she was based as seemed odd for a uk company to now have three employees with an american accent. I now have been told to wait another 48hrs and in the meantime my phone is sat with sony and will be desposed off in another week or so unless I pay them to send it back to me. Unfortunatelly now I think I have pretty much lost the £145.00 I paid them in May as paypal only gives you 45days for a dispute. I dont think I will ever get a vat reg receipt from them as I now know that these phones come from abroad.

I WOULD DEFINATELLY LIKE TO GET INVOLVED IN GETTING SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THEM SO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME VIA EMAIL

iPhone 3GS 32GB

I wish I had seen this page before placing my order. I bought an iPhone 3GS 32GB on the 19th October so I don't expect it until the end of next week at the earliest. I shall be keeping a close eye on this page and I'll keep you informed on the progress of my phone. Feel free to contact me if you want any more info or have any advice.

Iphone 3Gs

Im in exactly the same boat. Purchased an Iphone 3Gs / ten days later I had to request an update and coincidentally within 15 minutes I got an email saying item had been sent but with no tracking number provided. Then a week later I get the tracking number which doesnt work and when questioned on this I get told that they cant complain with Royal Mail until 15 days have passed etc from the date sent. The date sent clearly isnt registered with the Royal Mail. Its all very very wrong and the deceit and stories told to appease me are pathetic. I paid £650 for an Iphone and used my Business Credit Card. I noted on a Vodafone website forum that they were noted as reputable thus I didnt check into it too much. Im now expecting the worse 15 days after the purchase.

They do respond to my emails quickly but the answers are pathetic and tailored for someone who doesnt think for themselves. I dont know what to do now.

The saga continues....

Well I've been told that the phone has been dispatched but guess what? Yes Royal Mial's website says:

"Special Delivery™ Next Day items are first tracked when they have reached our mail centre. This may be late in the evening on the day the item was sent.

Information on your item is not yet available online."

I emailed them back and their replies have suddenly dried up:

"Hi,

I have checked with the post office and they say that once and item is flagged as dispatched and a tracking number issued it will appear on their tracking website but this isn't the case with my purchase:

http://postcode.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content1?catId=15400166&mediaId=96700753

I am aware of many people who are currently awaiting high value purchases from you i.e. phones and have not yet received them (there is a website dedicated purely to these transactions from e_cell). This causes me great concern. If the trend continues, as I have been advised it will, the Royal Mail website will not be able to track the item using the reference you gave me and it will miraculously "be lost" and never delivered. I do hope this is not the case as I paid for this phone on the 19th October.

I await your assurance."

Next step, submit a claim via PayPal.

I'll post their reply if they ever supply one.

I think they will eventually respond

it is just that their response will most likely be another bunch of shit. So, get ready for that claim...

ECELL

Hi I wish had researched ECELL before buying phone via ebay as I would have come across this thread. I paid £156.99 for phone (item #200373113530 BRAND NEW UNLOCKED SAMSUNG S5600 PRESTON BLACK PHONE UK) on 19.08.09, received email 28.09.09 stating item had been dispatched which was after advised estimated delivery date. Royal Mail tracking number supplied stated 'Check back later - Recorded Signed For™ items are only tracked after the item has been delivered', which is exactly same as other posts on this thread. Below is copy of my correspondence re no receipt of item with ECELL (which will be familar to all who have purchased a phone!!)

03.09.09
Dear e_cell,
I paid for Samsung S5600 mobile phone on 19.08.09, was advised estimated delivery date was 27th - 28th August. Received e-mail on 28.08.09 advising item had been posted. I have not received item as of yet and am unable to track this item as tracking number only gives info after delivery. I did pay promptly and appreciate that delivery of 6-7 days was an estimated time but it has been nearly 14 days now. I am concerned as I have not received this item which was apprently sent by first class recorded delivery on 28.08.09. Can you provide tracking number that I can use to check status of my delivery.

Yours sincerely
Lynn

REPLY FROM ECELL
Hi Lynn,
Sorry to hear that you have not received your order yet. We can see from our records that it was posted out last 28/08/09 using Royal Mail 1st Class. Royal Mail allows 2-3 working days for delivery. However, there are some circumstances that are unavoidable. They specify to allow up to 15 working days before we can query this with them if it has been lost in post. Should you not received the item by 18/09/09, please contact us via email, live chat or call our customer service department on 08712000499 and we'll take the necessary action for you.

If you have any additional concerns please let us know so we can sort it out , also please accept our apology if this caused you much inconvenience.

regards,
Mary

07.09.09
Dear e_cell,
I am going to contact Royal Mail to find out status / whereabouts of my item, can you confirm tracking number you provided DV757273734GB is correct?

regards
Lynn

REPLY FROM ECELL
Hi Lynn,
Thanks for your email. The Tracking Number provided by PayPal is correct, However, Royal Mail would not be able to provide the exact location as the item is currently in transit; The tracking number that was provided to you is a proof that the item was despatch as the tracking number was given by Royal Mail.
Moreover, a check of our records show that the item was despatched on 28-Aug-09 and should be in transit to you. Royal Mail states, to allow 2-3 working days for delivery if all goes well and if you have an updated address with Paypal, but then again that is NOT guaranteed ( check our listings under SHIPPING for this ). And in case something has gone amiss, Royal Mail declares a 15 working day policy which will be from dispatch date before we can make a claim. Should you not have this by 18-Sep-09 drop us an email so we can address this accordingly.

If we can be of any more help, please contact us again.
Kind regards,
Grace

18.09.09
Dear e_cell,
I have still not received this phone, was advised phone had been despatched on 28.08.09. Royal Mail 15 working day policy ended today and I am requesting refund of my payment as phone has not been received. As you are aware I did make an immediate payment for this phone and would appreciate refund to be immediate in return.

Lynn

REPLY FROM ECELL

Our record shows that this has been posted last 28/08/09 using Royal Mail 1st Class and is shipped to your eBay address. But since you are writing to confirm that you haven't received your order, we requested for a refund on your behalf. Please feel free to email us back should you need further assistance.

I opened dispute through paypal on 01.10.09

Dear eCell, in respect of previous correspondence where you advised that since I had not received phone purchased on 19.08.09 it may have been lost in the post, I requested a refund and was advised via e-mail that this would be issued soon as your refunds department completed the necessary paperwork and I should allow 5-7 working days for this to be processed. I have waited 9 working days now and have not received refund. I would appreciate if you could deal with this matter in a timely manner. Yours sincerely
Lynn

RESPONSE FROM ECELL
Hi We want to extend our deepest apologies that you have not received the item. We will look into it ASAP, if the item was lost in the transit, we will make a claim with Royal Mail and we'll deal with this accordingly. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Kind Regards

As I seemed to be back to square one I escalated claim via paypal and an currently awaiting refund.

After reading Syurv's thread posted on 03.10.09 I am going to leave negative feedback for ECELL just now while I still can.

I am totally with you, ECELL have been allowed to continue ripping people off and must be stopped.

Stick with us - do your part

Hi Lynn,

sorry to hear your story - it is pretty much what has happened to all of us.

I will be initiating class action procedures (hopefully with the help of all of you who have left your emails to the forum) second half of November 2009. Basically I will contact Blackpool police again (I have done so before buit they could not do much on a single person's complaint) and see whether we can file a joint complaint that would then elevate the case to "criminal" from just "civil", which means that the police could directly take these guys to criminal court without us having to hire lawyers in a civil court.

Please do what you can to increase visibility of this forum. One way is to directly message (via ebay messaging) people who left negative feedbacks on e_cell phone and other expensive gadget sales and tell them to come here and leave their brief mesaage and email so that we can organise and have a massive number of say 100 people co-signing the same report to the police.

There's already about 20 people who have declared their support to the cause on this forum.

Cheers,
Fotios

Hi, I ordered a Sony Ericsson

Hi, I ordered a Sony Ericsson C902 from ecell -because they it is said they're power sellers and whatnot; they seemed trustable - how stupid I was! I went on straight paying $300 to them, and waited for my phone to arrive since 27/07/2009 - not till this day anything happened! They said that they lost the package two times - first sent me an invalid tracking number, then they told that they've resent it with the same(!) tracking number - which is of course can't happen.

As I'm from Central Europe, what are my chances of getting my money back? I'm willing to go as far as EU Consumer Rights Protection Office, or any legal way.

Hi

Hi Balint,

there is definitely things you can do. Make sure you file an ebay and/or paypal dispute if you still can. Also, let your credit card bank (if you paid by credit card) know about the fraud - they can initiate procedures for charge back - this is how I got my money back 5 months later.

Finally stick with us and get ready for some organised, collective, powerful action to bring these scammers down.

F.

Fotios, lucky you - I was

Fotios,
lucky you - I was paying with PayPal - and they're not replying for more then 48h. did you succeeded with the HMCS anyway? This seems the only reliable juridical procedure one can take (my brother lives in London)?

he paid

HMCS could not proceed because he had in the meantime paid me back and provided proof of payment to the judge. However, through HMCS I got to find out that Murat Celikkol is a real person, is indeed the director of e_cell in the UK and is a resident of Blackpool, UK.

I will be organising collective action against them in November though and I will be contacting you as well to ask you if you would like to take part in it at that time.

Cheers

Hi Fotios, I got an

Hi Fotios,

I got an interesting email from PayPal:

"This being the case, we recommend staying in contact with the seller in
order to find a resolution that you are both happy with. You may try to
contact Trading Standards if they have some protection in placed. You may
also wish to seek legal advice or contact your local police to proceed with
the investigation of this case. In accordance with our privacy policies,
PayPal will provide the relevant information on this case to the police.

We do reserve the right to reopen any claim for investigation within 180
calendar days if we receive multiple complaints about a particular seller.

We will contact you by email if this is the case."

I think we should have this investigation started, I advise everyone here to write to PayPal about their problems directly! I used the Report Fraud/ Prohibited Use item for reporting this case, they replied within 24 hours.

b.

well...

In my experience you cannot rely on either ebay or paypal to do what is right. They might but most probably won't. I have already contacted both paypal and ebay on this and I believe most others that have been ripped off did as well - at least this is what everybody says. This is exactly the problem - both ebay and paypal should have kicked this company out by now but they haven't; one can only assume that this is one of these cases where corporate gain (or fear of loss of it) as well as fear of creating insecurity among the rest of the sellers, overrides morality.

Hi guys, I also ordered an

Hi guys,

I also ordered an Apple iPhone from ecell as it was the way cheapest opportunity to get one. I checked their feedback and decided to deal with a serious company. At the time they had more than 300.000 positive feedbacks. Unfortunately I didn't check them in more detail to find out about their way of "trading".

Anyway, I bought the phone on Oct 1st after checking with paypal if I am completely covered. I promtly received a confirmation email from ecell and a positive feedback. I liked it!

Ok, to give you an overview:
Oct 1: Purchased the iPhone via eBay and paid immediately with paypal. With additional 2,5GBP for postage insurance
Oct 12: The iPhone was posted, I got the "fake" Royal-Mail tracking No.
...In the meantime several calls with ecell asking for my item. -> It is expected to be delivered on Oct 30, maybe earlier. Tracking is not possible (WTF!?)
Oct 21: I opened a conflict at paypal (after reading this page here!) Thanks btw.!
Answer from ecell:
"Hi, We are very sorry that you haven't received your item as of yet. After checking, the original item has been lost in transit, we have already begun an insurance claim with Royal Mail to recoup our loss. To prevent further inconvenience we will reprocess your order tomorrow via DHL service. We will get back to you within 1-2 business days for your new tracking number. We are positive that you will be receiving this item within the next 3-5business days. Regards"
Oct 22: That sounded to me like another push and I started the protection process via paypal. That was at 10:15am.

I did not expect to get any answer from ecell. paypal said that I will receive my money 10 days after the claim, if ecell can't proof the delivery of the iPhone (with my signature!). I almost bought another iPhone at ebay. Lucky me, I did not!
When I came home at Friday night I found a letter from UPS in my mailbox saying there's an item (my neighbour takes the post if I am not home). And - believe it or not - there is my iPhone! (Oct 23!!!) (2 days to Germany!)
Of course the UPS-tracking No. works. After checking, the iPhone was first tracked by UPS at 9:49am, Oct 22 (that is GMT, so it was one hour after my claim!!) (CET summer-time..)

The phone is working well! I guess it comes from Asia somewhere. There was NO invoice in the box. And it was not really a box. Just an envelope (like the ones for books or smaller items) for a 600€ phone! Not very professional!

I hope the phone won't break in the near future. I don't want to get back to ecell in terms of warranty...

My point of view:
If you buy something at ecell, only with paypal. And open a conflict ASAP. I don't think that I'll buy from them again. Lucky me that I got my phone. But I was safe with paypal that I would at least not loose my money!

To all of you still waiting for your phones or money: Good luck!

great, but...

Great that you got your phone and thanks for posting the info. I would definitely not consider you as lucky though because:

1. You only got what you should have gotten right away after loads of frustration
2. You basically have a phone with no warranty whatsoever
3. If it is not repaired or refurbished, it is probably stolen
4. If it is stolen it could end up being blocked from the networks in the future (read above what happened to a woman that received from them a working phone that however turned out to be stolen).

Considering all of the above it may have been better if you got your money back instead of the dodgy phone.

Good luck!

My experience in their words and mine

Joy,

I can be patient but I cant tolerate being deceived or hearing information that simply cannot be true. Im sure your aware of how important a reputation can be. After a little online research my concerns recently expressed to you are a common concern voiced reasonably well amongst a great number of people online in the UK. I only wish I had researched this better before purchase. Everyone is subjected to the same scenarios and stories you sent me such as bogus tracking numbers and delivery information. Your Royal Mail statement saying they cannot provide me full track and trace facilities 'only' applies to items being sent from outside of the UK. Something I was very very aware of hence my desire to avoid this scenario. I am aware of a Postal Stirke but if the item has been collected from you by Royal Mail as per your 'Item has been sent' email last week then that would be registered with the Royal Mail are there is 'no other version' of that fact. I know they cannot provide an 'exact' location (Eg what Rd it is currently travelling on) but they can acknowledge possession and more importantly what Royal Mail location it is at. Ive used this service many many times in the past. Otherwise, what would be the point of the service and a tracking number if it merely told you the item had been delivered? I find your reply insulting to assume I wouldnt know these things. Please note the link below as it may help you provide more believable replies.

http://track.royalmail.com/portal/rm/jump2?catId=400145&mediaId=15400385

http://track.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content1?catId=15400166&mediaId=96700753

I will be waiting a few more days for this item with the assumption youve sent it although on very different terms from what was expected and offered. If by the end of the week no results are noted I will be moving into a different realm regarding this sale. I will be thankful if and when it arrives.

xxxxxx

Hi xxxxxx,

Thank you for getting back to us. If that's your opinion that we are not a UK Company, we cannot contend with that and we are not trying to cover up anything out here. As we have stated on our previous correspondence, Royal Mail cannot provide you full track and trace facilities from the point of sale to the delivery, only once item has been delivered and signed for. You are aware that there is a postal strike going on, this must been the cause of delay why you not received the item you ordered from our company. Be informed that we separately works with Royal Mail, once item has been handed to them , it depends how fast they will deliver it to you.

We understand that you are running out of patience right now on how we process orders, but it's clearly stated in our listing that we can only make a claim with Royal Mail and send you a replacement only after 15 working days once item has been proven lost in the post as well. Here is what we can ask you to do, kindly wait for the item on the date we have stated, in case it did not arrive on that date get back to us so we can make a claim with Royal Mail ASAP, this time we will impose necessary actions on how to deal with this accordingly.
If you have further questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us back. We will be more than happy to serve you again. We hope this would warrant a positive feedback and rest assure it will be returned in kind.

Regards,

Grace,

I think you know as well as I do that these are all excuses to cover up the
fact you are not a UK based company and the item, if it exists, is more
likely to be arriving from China and it probably hasnt arrived in the UK
yet. The Royal Mail tracking number is exactly as it says, a 'tracking'
number and it should be able to trace the package at approx four locations
Eg Dispatch Office, Sorting Office, On route to Address, Delivered. The
number you have given me shows 'nothing' as you are well aware and at the
very worst case scenario it should say collected and ready for sorting etc.
As you know it does not say anything a week after you said it was posted.
This is 100% inaccurate and not how the Royal Mail works. If you were based
in the UK you would know these facts!

Your company is set up in a deceitful manor and so far every email you have
sent regarding postage has been a fabricated story. You would have received
the tracking number instantly from the royal mail and further more, it
would have noted instantly that they had ownership.

I am not interested in the 15 day period prior to you being able to claim
from the Royal Mail but I find it very interesting that you keep mentioning
this 15 day period as it is obviously the point you are going to rely on on
the 10 November as you know as well as I do that this item will never be
received and you will be appeasing me further in the future after the 10th
November as you drag out the matter of it not being delivered for a further
few months. This 15 day period is irrelevant as the Royal Mail do not even
have the product as per the tracking number.

I could have bought this product much cheaper if I was prepared to buy from
china. However, I wasnt prepared to do so based on warranty and exchanges.
Alternatively I could have owned this product 2 weeks ago if I had bought
from Amazon, which in hindsight, I certainly should have done so.

Hi xxxxxx,

Thanks for your email and we're sorry to hear that you haven't received the
item as of yet. The tracking number provided to you is a confirmation that
the item is in transit, thus it is in the hands of Royal Mail which is
mainly the company responsible for delivery. Unfortunately at this time
Royal Mail cannot provide you full track and trace facilities from the
point of sale to the delivery. Thus it may show on Royal Mail's site that
the information is unavailable for this exact reason. Please consider as
well that every day we fulfil large number of orders, we usually post
tracking number 24 hours after despatch date.

On the other hand, it shows on our records that the item was indeed posted
on 21-Oct-09. Royal Mail allows 2-3 working days for delivery. However,
there are some circumstances that are unavoidable. Please allow up to 15
working days for the item to get to you. This 15 working day limit is set
by the Royal Mail as they will not allow a claim until this time period
passes. The latest date you will be receiving the item will be on
10-Nov-09. Should you not receive the item by then, let us know so we can
claim it from Royal Mail.

We do appreciate hearing from our customers, as your feedback is vital for
us to continue improving our services. Again, our apology for the
inconvenience caused.

Kind regards,

Grace

Mary,

According to the Royal Mail information on my tracking number is not
available to date. They advise that items are first tracked when they reach

the mail centre after collection from the sender thus your business. This
is typically in the evening when they are sent which would have been last
Wednesday 21st or at the latest Thursday morning, assuming your dispatch
email was legitimate. To date this item is not registered with the Royal
Mail and the tracking number you provided has no benefit which is difficult

to accept 6 days after is was sent. I would also like to note that once
dispatched from your company there was no tracking number provided to me
until I recently requested one from you which is only adding another layer
of concern with this transaction. The tracking number should have been
issued instantly and I did enquire about this also once I noted it wasnt
provided. No response was given until I asked again today.

In addition to this concern, the item wasnt posted until I enquired about
it 10 days after the purchase and the noted dispatch email was conveniently

sent within 15 mins of my enquiry. Obviously it was sent as a result of me
asking. This is therefore three enquiries by me to you and three rather
dubious responses that all seem to be responses merely issued to appease as

on each occasion they lack credibility. One response had a rather poor and
broken down grammatical email which wasnt very clear and caused some
confusion which is worrying as its also symptomatic of the numerous online
spam emails I get on a weekly basis.

I have to be honest and say at this point a lot of things are not filling
me with much confidence as the recently provided tracking number has
certainly elevated my concerns. Given that the item carries such a high
value I think my concerns are warranted. I appreciate that mistakes happen
and I am willing to tolerate occasional mistakes but so far I feel like
this transaction creates a reasonable level of suspicion especially as it
is 16 days after the original transaction and I have no idea were my item
is.

xxxxxx

Hi xxx,

Thank you for getting back to us and sorry to hear that you have not
received the item yet. Your phone has been dispatched and the Royal Mail
tracking number is SJ987688466GB, so the item is out of our hands as it is
in transit. We can't make a claim until 15 working days from the date of
dispatch; as Royal Mail will not investigate it until that time. Please
note that e_cell is not a delivery company and as such cannot guarantee
delivery on a specific date, this is down to the postal services. If the
item does not turn up by 11/11/09, we'll take appropriate action and we
will make a claim with the Royal Mail directly.

If you have any additional concerns please let us know so we can sort it
out , also please accept our apology if this caused you much inconvenience.

regards,
Mary

Dear Sir or Madame,

Can you advise if the item was sent via recorded delivery as stated on your

ebay site. If so, is there a tracking number that I can use. It has almost
been a week with no sign of the item arriving via 1st class postage. Please

note I am receiving post daily thus the postal strike isnt impacting my
postage to date. Nonetheless, I would like to be able to track the item if
send via recorded delivery.

xxxxxx

Hi xxx,

Thanks for your email. Please advise upon receipt or not of the item.
Hopefully you'll have it at the earliest possible time.

Thanks for your time and should you have further questions, don't hesitate
to get in touch with us.

regards,
Mary

Bridgel,

The item was allegedly dispatched within 15 mins of my email inquiry today
which was within the last hour. I doubt it was a coincidence that it was
sent at that time and Im glad I emailed. I appreciate that Royal Mail is a
separate entity to eCell. Nonetheless, I will be in contact much earlier
than 11/11/09 if the item has not arrived within the next 2-3 days, if
posted within the UK via 1st class Royal Mail as stated. I assume it has
been sent via recorded delivery thus a signature is required by the
recipient as any other method would be unwise.

I shall patiently wait for the post.

xxxxxxx

Hi xxxx ,

Thank you so much for informing us about this matter and we sincerely
apologise for the inconvenience this matter has caused you. A check on our
record shows that the item was posted out last 21.10.09 . Delivery takes
2-3 working days. If all goes well you'll receive this in time, but not
guaranteed. Item was already handed to Royal Mail. We assure you that the
item was despatched however, there are instances that we cannot avoid
during shipping and handling as we function separately from the courier
service. Due to some circumstances that are unavoidable, Royal Mail
declares 15 working day delivery policy which will be from despatch date
before we can query the item to them. If the item don't turn up by 11.11.09

, please contact us immediately and you can be assured that this will be
dealt accordingly.

Please feel free to email us back should you need further assistance.

Kind regards,
Bridgel

Hi Grace,

Its been 10 days now since I made the payment on the ebay referenced item.
Can you provide an update on the status of this order and perhaps an
explanation as to why it takes so long when you had 10 items in stock etc.
As you know most companies can ship stocked items within a couple of days.
I do appreciate you noted on the website / your email 7 days etc but I am
starting to get a little impatient and concerned considering I've parted
with my money.

Thanks

Regards

Hi xxxx,

Thank you for your recent purchase.

We know that you're anxious to receive your item. The item is not yet
posted, please note that the item listing does state that the order will be

processed within 7 working days after your payment has been received (note
e-Cheque payments made through PayPal can take 2 weeks to clear). On the
day of dispatch you will receive a notification that the item was
dispatched and to follow an email containing the tracking number from Royal

Mail. Once you receive this, the item has been sent and is in the hands of
the Royal Mail.

Customer service is extremely important to us and we would appreciate a
positive feedback once the item has been received.

Kind regards,

Grace

Ripped-Off

Hello everyone,
I have also been ripped off - paid for a Blackberry one month ago, no phone, ridiculous excuses and stalling tactics. Have asked for a full refund and they gave me some utter bullshit about their refund department needing to investigate further before issuing one? WTF???!!!!
These scumbags should be thrown off Ebay and slung in jail. I have now opened a dispute with Ebay and would dearly like to contact the police. Please keep me informed of any developments and I will do my utmost to assist anybody else who has been conned.

will contact you

Hi Paul,

I will contact you towards the end of this November (as well and many others who have left their emails on this forum) in order to organise collective action against them.

Cheers

ecell = the dregs

amazing, came across this site after an horrendous deal with these clowns. clearly they are not uk
based (took an age to arrive/ chinese script in the sony ericsson w595 i ordered), endless generic garbage emails as above compaints re- delay, supplied non original charger (2 pin non uk charger and some ecell contraption that takes up half the house), promised to refund for charger, yet to receive). DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. will be contacting ebay by phone to make them aware of this site.
the absolute dregs....................

e_cell is UK company

They are based in UK Blackpool - this is confirmed (read the rest of the forum topics). However some items come from Asia through them and they probably outsource their phone customer support.

iphone order not fulfilled

Same old same old here! Paid - delayed dispatch - notification of dispatch - no tracking details sent - Item failed to arrive! Failed to respond to emails. Opened dispute last night via Paypal and threatened legal action via email - refund within one hour! Clearly counting on a significant percentage of customers giving up! This crowd give a bad name to ebay - STAY CLEAR!

I got my refund after

I got my refund after escalating to a claim via PayPal. Took 3 hours. I also threatened them with legal action if they didn't refund me. Left them negative feedback with reference to this site as a warning to others. Still happy to assist if I can help bring this guy to his knees.

Great

Great that you got your money back. Seems they are in a tight spot as they have started refunding much easier than they would before. I am pretty sure this forum helped increase the pressure on them. But we ain't done yet! I will get back to you when the time has come to move aggressively (e.g. joint police report and hopefully state initiated criminal prosecution)

please count me in, I still

please count me in, I still didn't get my money back...

absolutely

absolutely - it seems they are more afraid of UK based buyers who threaten with legal action as they can actualy go through with it more easily. They definitely make it tougher for international buyers that they presume do not know how to proceed with legal action for abroad. I used MCOL and a virtual UK address however. This way anyone can start formal civil cases for small claims from anywhere in Europe and potentially the world. Read here: http://fotios.org/node/2196

Good news, everyone - today I

Good news, everyone - today I got an email from them, with the usual lies about "lost in transit" and all the yada-yada: but they finally payed my money back (205 pounds) via PayPal (of course they throw the transaction on me for 8 pounds, but I no longer care). "We assure you that this is not usual of our company's service." Well, I'll not give them a second chance, bet you. :)

e_cell feedback

Hi
I eventually got my item off e_cell, it was only a usb cable and I bought it because it was next day postage, waited two weeks 6 emails later and it arrived. In the meantime I bought another one from a genuine ebayer. After leaving neg feedback I got an email off them asking if I would accept a refund without returning the item but change my feedback to positive and adjust detailed seller ratings to 5 gold stars! I told them no thanks they deserved the neg feedback and reported them to ebay as this practice is in breach of ebay rules. Don't know what ebay will do as they cover themselves with all ebay action remains anon. Anyway the sooner bellends like e_cell are removed from ebay the better...

Ecell really does suck! Total scammers and poor quality products

I purchased and apple iphone 3g car charger and a apple iphone car window mount form these jokers. Firstly both items took nearly 4 weeks to arrive after so many emails to them which they take ages to resppond to! Kept telling me item is in the post and will be with you soon and they cannot control how long postal service take. Any way when i finaly got both of the items i checked the postage stamp and they had only despatched it 2 days priior to me receiving the parcel! When i quizzed them about this they told me the post office had lost the parcel and found it again then restamped it and despatched it again! What a set of liers! And thats not all, the window mount iphone holder was absoloutely crap and the car charger was only compatible with the 2G model! The window mount holder basically shwon in the pic with a long arm so you could bend it down toward your gearstick/stereo system but when i got it it was more like a sat nav holder which was literally 2-3 inches at most away from the window whcih was absolutely useless and dangerous if i needed to make calls etc. To add to that after only one days use the window mount became so loose it would actually start to spin around! So as i drive the iphone would be spinnin all over the place! What an absolute joke. So heres the best part. I contacted eCell via ebay messages expalining fisrtly the charger is not compatible and secondly the window mount is damaged. No response! severeal emails later i and about 1 week later i got a message back finally asking me to return the items for a replacement. I did this and guess what??? a further 4 weeks of lies after lies claiming they have not received my parcel even though i sent recorded delivery and item was signed for. Then after i put a claim in with paypal they emailed me sayig they had me mistaken with another customer!!! Anyways at this point i told them to forget there item (this was through paypal communication) as it had been too long and just refund my payment. Guess what???? 5 days later i get the same items back in the post! And although this time the car charger was correct one i had already pruchased another one and no longer needed it. And the window mount once again was total crap quality! I told paypal that even though i had requested refund they still sent the item after i had requested a refund. They then told paypal item was posted before i asked for a refund!!! Luckily i kept the packaging with there retunr details on and sent pictures to paypal showing the despatch date and paypal granted full refund and i didnt have to send the items back! Funniest thing was they actually asked me to retunr the items as they had refunded my payment!!!! No you didn't paypal refunded as the case went in my favour. For a laugh i said ok i would retunr them but as you may not receive it as royal mail seems to be so bad i will have to post spevcil delivery so please send me £5.40 to cover the postage costs! No response as of yet!!!!!! FOR ALL YOU BUYERS BEWARE OF THESE SCAMMERS, OVER 200 NEGATIVE FEEDBACK IN LAST 30 DAYS AND OVER 4000 NEGATIVE IN LAST 12 MONTHS, THATS MORE THEN 300 A MONTH! AND IF YOU LOOK AT THE NEGATIVE MOST ARE FOR HIGH VALUE GOODS, LOOK AT THERE POSITIVE AND I BET 99.5% OF THEM ARE FOR GOODS UNDER £10!!! KEEP AWAY FROM THERE CHEAP PHONES COS YOU WILL BE WAITING FOR EVER TO RECEIVE THEM

AND IF THIS EVER DOES GET TO COURT PLEASE EMAIL ME I WILL PROVIDE ANY HELP REQUIRED TO PROSECUTE THESE JOKERS. SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN SCAMMED AND HOW EBAY STILL ALLOW THEM TO BE ON IS A JOKE (PROBS COS EBAY MAKIN SO MUCH IN FEES THEY ALLOW THEM TO GET AWAY WITH IT-SHAME ON YOU EBAY!!!)

e_Cell -report to BBC watchdog

I am going to report them to BBC Watchdog, including PayPal and Ebay. Obviously, I was naiv to believe in their promises and I did not report them to Ebay or PayPal within 45 days after purchase so I cannot claim a refund which is absurd.

i have also

I have reported them to BBC Watchdog as well - perhaps if more people do they will eventually do a story on them. Give them a link to this page as well - so that they can get all the details of the case. Try to phone your credit card's fraud dept - they can do a charge back until much later; I got my money back like that 5 months after purchase. Good luck!

We have also reported them to

We have also reported them to watchdog

I even got ripped by e-cell.

I even got ripped by e-cell. My biggest problem is that i am from germany, but live in the uk
for one year so i dont know what to do here...

The second prob is i payed by debid card and i dont know how to get my money back!
If someone knows please let me know where to claim against e-cell. Maybe you guys can tell me
an addrress or somethink like that who i have to contact..
thanks a lot!

easy

Hi, you can easily and cheaply prosecute them online. Check my other forume topic here: http://fotios.org/node/2196

Good luck

Never received my phone.

Great posts! Unfortunatly I read them only after ordering a phone which I never received. Also for me the same pattern ... payment confirmation after 10 days, confirmation of shipment with fake tracking, and ... still no phone after 35 days. Called them but they kindly asked me to wait. I'm currently in the process of filing a claim with paypal.

good luck to all of you!

NEVER USE ECELL AND TELL ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS

I posted my complaint yesterday about not receiving my iphone and subsequently opened a claim within Paypal\ebay etc. This morning I received a request from eCell to cancel this transaction. I have agreed to cancel the transaction and am waiting for the Refund to hit my bank account. I won't be happy until i have my refund but It does look from paypal that i have been refunded.

Raising an issue within Paypal\Ebay has provided the only positive action from eCell since I started to become concerned about the no-show of my item. Therefore recommend that this process is followed thru if anyone has made the mistake of buying something from these people.

And another one

I had the same experience as everyone else, paid £194 for a phone on 7 Oct, same email exchanges, no delivery by 4 Nov which is when the 15 days expired. Ecell have promised a refund and I have opened a case on PayPal, so lets see what happens. Given all the negative feedback and complaints I am amazed they are still permitted to trade on ebay.

Has anyone contacted Trading Standards?

I am also a member of Which? and will seek advice from them as well if I need to.

you should try it

I have not contacted Trading Standards but it would be great if you could do that. Good luck to you in any case and stay in touch as I will soon be organising a joint police report co-signed by all of us.

Count Me In

Count me in fotios. I just got scammed by them. I should have seen through their rigged feedback. I can not believe ebay is not taking any action. I have filed a paypal dispute and i will also write an email to ebay. I will also support any legal action against this #$$!*(&@.

I bought a £ 600 Iphone off

I bought a £ 600 Iphone off these people thru ebay and its still not turned up nor do i expect it to turn up. I have raised the necessary cases within ebay & paypal, have sent them e-mails and am just being fobbed off at the moment. Having seen this page and all the other unfortunate people who have dealt with ecell I am even more worried and dejected.

I have also logged my experience with the BBC's Watchdog show. If everyone else does the same then there might be a chance that the BBC will investigate and report eCell to a wider audience.

Good thinking

yes, do report them anywhere you can and especially BBC Watchdog. Joint police report soon to come.

victim of eHell too!!!!

I am shocked!!!!! I just now found out from googling about this site! I oredered at Octomber 9 a cellphone from eCell and now I bought anoter device. I complained to them a lot of times for the delay but they kept promising me untill now that i'll have it soon... But now its too late and I dont need the cellphone, I need a refund and told it to them many times but I think that they are laughing at me.

Please, if anyone knows, what can i do to get refund from them?
Should I end communication with eCell and escalate this dispute to a claim with PayPal?

Absolutely

yes, escalate this to a claim with PayPal as soon as possible

Everything ok. I didn't have

Everything ok. I didn't have to. I threatened them to full-refund me (and they did, within 24hours) or else I woud take legal action instantly.

An advise to new people deceived: Don't wait for the order to arrive!!! Demand your money back after 3 or 4 weeks! AND NO MATTER WHAT DON'T LET 45 DAYS PASS OR PAYPAL WON'T DO ANYTHING TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK, AND THEY KNOW IT (THATS WHY THEY R TRYING TO DELAY THE DELIVERY -if the phone youre buying from them exists!-)

GOOD LUCK

e-cells ratings..

I ordered a phone around the 5th nov & have an expected delivery date of 17th....waiting with baited breath now after seeing this site..Anyway...Having scanned thru e-cell's "fantastic" customer feedback rating, it's made me more wary of sellers star ratings. The thing I noticed about all the great feedbacks is the items bought usually cost up to £10. If you filter these out leaving only the high price items, it seems the sellers feedback would be around 50/50. What a con..selling thousands of small price items & having them arrive perfect seems to cover up the bad reviews for the less frequently bought higher price items!

Anyway, can't comment on service yet (except for the crappy wait. Thought I'd throw in about those "great" ratings)

ebay ratings are inherently unreliable

thing is, for ebay, a 1 pence transaction counts as much as a 1,000 quid transaction. So, if I successfully complete nine 1 pence transactions and then pocket the 1,000 quid involved in the tenth transaction, my seller rating would then be 90%. I wonder who was the genius behind this one!

Bottomline is: anything below 99.9% is to be treated with caution and anything below 99,5% with extreme caution.

Iphone 32GB White

ordered and paid £654.00 by card.22-Oct-09
they delayed shipping with all sorts of nonsense.
then "We have dispatched the following item to you. Please see below for estimated
delivery times.

1) UK Customers - Royal Mail 1st Class & 1st Class Recorded Delivery - This
is usually delivered to you within 2-3 business days. " that was 2nd November
by the 17th of November this
"we could not issue a refund for this item as it is in transit. Please be informed that e_cell is not a delivery company and we cannot guarantee delivery on specific date; this is down to the postal services. We can guarantee you though is that the despatch from our warehouse is within the time frames stated."

Wow , what an insult to my intelligence then they wrote "your item's tracking number is SJ987688744GB via Royal Mail service. Please note that Royal Mail does not provide detailed tracking information, just a confirmation of delivery" I decided to check again with royal Mail over the phone and online, they confirmed NO SUCH POSTING WAS POSSIBLE BECAUSE IT WOULD BE LOGGED ON THE SYSTEM. so 2 weeks after posting on a next day service there is no tracking information. FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD!

It is astonishing to me that after all this time, it isnt yet clear to ebay that Elcell ( confusingly called ECell) are financing thier business through abuse of unwitting valuable Ebay customers money. If you have an item in stock it doesnt take 4 weeks to send it on a next day service to an adress that IS THE SAME AS THE CARDHOLDER. Ebay are seemingly culpable in this fraud through their inactivity to act against this seller despite clear proof that they dont have the items immediately in stock, they are lying about delivery and they are refusing to send people back thier money even after 6 weeks. What a scam, beats going to the bank, and we pay his interest fees on our cards.

I bought a phone from this

I bought a phone from this company on the 22nd Oct and was then told that even though my payment had been authorized that i would have to wait the "7" business days until they could send the phone out for delivery. I was in constant contact with them and seemed to get the usual automated response until I got a tracking number. I checked the tracking number on the royal mail website and no info was available. I waited for a few days with still no info. I contact e_cell and they said that RM could not track the package and they had sent out the item. This seemed suspect so I contacted RM and they had no info off the package reaching the depot as if it had they would have the information. I opened up a paypal dispute and within 5 mins i got a full refund...
I would love to know how this company is able to run as they clearly are ripping off people. They should be closed down. I am just thankful that i got my money back.

Hopefully no one else will order from this scam off a company!!

Thanks for your advice. Happy ending!

Having ordered a mobile phone in good faith from Ecell I began to have doubts and checked their feedback carefully. I realised, as countless others have, that there was a problem with delivery of high-value goods. I waited twelve working days, then telephoned their helpline. I was told that the item had been despatched one week previously and that they had no control over Royal Mail delivery times. I asked for a tracking number and was told (on a very poor and distant line) that their system was down. They said they would send me an email about postal tracking when they could. I found your website accidentally whilst looking for their parent company and learned to my dismay that I might never see my goods or my money again.
I took the advice that you had given others and started an action through Paypal. I stated that their advertising seemed misleading, if not dishonest, and that there seemed to be many dissatisfied customers out there. I asked them to tell me honestly whether they had really sent a phone off to me. Within the hour I had received a full refund! This is the first time I have ever had a problem, buying from the online auction site. Why are they still allowed to make empty promises and continue to trade on Ebay?

I am glad

Hi Alan. I am glad you got your money back. I think ecell are allowed to continue trading on ebay bacause of the dark side of capitalism whereby overall profit and market movement is often deemed more important than case specific business ethics. I will be contacting you when the time comes for organised action against them.

Another one scammed by ecell :(

Yep, I'm another one. Only a few pounds but if they do it with most people, that's a lot of money!

Why the hell are eBay allowing this company to continue trading!?

WOW, HAVE YOU BEEN RIPPED OF TOO !

My heart goes out to all the people that have been ripped off with large amounts of money for items they have bidded for and never received.

I too have been ripped off but luckily not for a large amount. These small amounts have been overlooked by Ebay. The larger amounts are what we are all concentrating on.

This should not be allowed to be still going on. I wished I'd looked into the feedback more before making a payment.
If I do get a refund, I will be willing to send this amount to you to help pay for the legal fees and stop this fraudster from carrying on.

I am shocked to see they are allowing this to be going on for so long and has not been stopped by Ebay. What the hell is going on????????

SHAME ON EBAY!!!!!! Hope they are very pleased with themselves as a little girl is very unhappy and upset that she didnt get the extra present that was to go with her MAIN PRESENT, that was also bought on Ebay, but by a reputable Ebay member for her BIRTHDAY......

Hope Ebay.co.uk are pleased with themselves................ You should hold your heads in shame.

They will loose customers as we all don't feel safe anymore.

I've not left feedback for this item yet, but will do and I will give this address for this web page for other users to see and hopefully stop anymore getting ripped off in future.

This address will also be given to friends and family to buy low value items at my expence, although cheap and nasty, I will continue to put this address on their negative feedback for others to see and remain aware of what they are dealing with.

Ebay please help the unsuspecting public from falling into their trap.

hello

Hello John, I can sure feel your pain and anger. Have you tried opening ebay or paypal disputes? Good luck and do stick with us as we will be initiating proceedings soon. Cheers!

Remember time limits for complaints!!

I have 600 GBP outstanding with E_cell (paid for an iPhone). Their customer service replies consistantly dragged things out buying time. I now realise that they are going for the 45days PayPal time limit for disputes. Naturally I didn't know this and complained to PayPal about their time limit. Now trying eBay, but unfortunately suspect a similar silly time limit or something.
So avoid e_cell but if already there, you may as well file a complaint with PayPal/eBay already.
Jan, Copenhagen

I still got my money back

This is what happened to me but I was able to still get my money back months later using my credit card company's fraud department. I advise you to do the same.

Another victim of Elcell Communications Limited

I purchased an item from ecell on eBay. It was described as "Genuine Apple Product" but when it arrived, it was clearly a counterfeit copy. And it was so poorly made that it was unuseable.

I have emailed ecell, eBay, Apple Inc counterfeit division and UK Trading Standards. The seller is refusing to refund (or communicate properly) and I guess they just hope that I will go away.

I intend to pursue them through the cUK ourts. If anyone wants to assist or join me, please email your contact details to me at ecellvictims@gmail.com

Thanks

eCell. They Must be stopped!!

Hi All,just like everyone here I have had a very similar problem with this company. I purchased a mobile phone from them, paid directly through PayPal,then received an email stating that it had been posted with Royal Mail.....blah blah blah.......! I got a tracking number that doesn't correspond to anything that Royal Mail have. When I contacted them after a week I was told the same as everyone here, have to give in 14 working days before they can claim through Royal Mail, now I live in Dublin,it could not possibly take more than a week for a small package to arrive from Blackpool. I tried to contact them through their on- line Live Chat, but that was always unavailable! Sent another email after 10 days and got the same '14 working days,we can't do anything till then,so sorry' email back. So when the 14 days were finally up I got on to PayPal resolution to contact them. I received an email the following day through PayPal stating they wanted to cancel the transaction as I either have or will be returning the item!! I hadn't even got it!! I still haven't two days later!! I mailed back to PayPal declining their offer,as I would have to pay the postage to send it back, assuming I ever receive it that is!! Then I noticed that they had already given me a full refund!? I didn't ask for that? Why were they so quick to give me a full refund when they only had my word for it that I didn't receive it?? Is it because they know that they HADN'T EVEN SENT IT???? Then, like other people here,I noticed that I had an unpaid item in 'my ebay',checked and discovered that they had stated that I had won this item and needed to pay for it!!!! This is crazy!!!I checked their Feedback before I bought the phone, but didn't look hard enough. They had a 98% positive rating, which looks good cause you can't please everyone, but when you look into it,almost all the positive feedback is for cheaper goods, and almost all the negative is for dearer goods???!!! Something has to be done about them, they can't keep this up.I assume eBay let them carry on because they sell a lot and therefore pay a lot in fees to eBay,but it can't go on.

Thats exactly what we

Thats exactly what we thought, Ebay wont shut the company down as they are making too much money through Elcell. Its not right at all. Sorry to hear about your bad experience by the way, mine is the comment below yours.

This company should be shut down!

I purchased a NOKIA N97 from this company and have had nothing but trouble since.
The phone was faulty and kept locking up, I had to take the battery off and replace it to get the phone to work again. Also when charging the phone it never said it was completely charged no matter how long I left it for, then the battery lasted about 5 hours!
I telephoned Elcell and they told me to return the phone and they would look at it so I sent it recorded delivery, waited a few days for them to contact me but no response. I started to email the company to ask for an update everyday and all they kept telling me was that they hadn't had confirmation from their warehouse that they had even received the phone back yet but I could clearly see from my tracking number they had signed for it. This went on for days then all of a sudden I received the phone back with a note inside saying they couldn't find any faults with the phone but only with the charger so they had replaced it (whoever was emailing me couldn't even confirm that they had even received the phone)
Anyway I put the phone straight on charge and guess what it still did not charge up properly. Asked Elcell for a full refund and they said no as I had used the phone! (how I am supposed to know its faulty until I have used it I don't know?)
So I opened up a dispute through Paypal and sent many agonising emails through the resolution centre quoting my rights by law and I was getting nowhere with them so I changed the dispute to a claim with Paypal. I waited a few weeks for Paypal to investigate the situation and they decided I was entitled to a refund and told me to post the phone back to Elcell recorded delivery so I posted it the same day. As soon as Elcell received my phone Paypal said they would put the money into my account so I rang Elcell the minute Royal Mail website said Elcell had signed for the phone and they were completely unhelpful about it all. All they kept saying to me yet again was that they needed confirmation from their warehouse they had received the phone but refused to contact the warehouse while I was on the phone. After 30 minutes on the phone arguing with them it was left that they would call me back within 24 hours, well to this day over a month later they have never rang me. I had to ring Papal and confirm what had happened and they just refunded me my money.
Please please I urge anybody thinking of buying anything from this company not to. They are complete scammers. I cannot believe that Ebay have not shut them down!

Another Ecell Victim

Hi All - here again is another Ecell victim. Bought a Nokia slide phone for £165 on 7th November, phone had still not been despatched after the 5/7 days 'required' for clearance of funds, I phoned and emailed them and was told the earliest the phone would be despatched was on the 16th November. By the end of the week still no confirmation email, so I phoned them - did you know their customer services is in the Philiphines! I asked and the operator told me where they were based - anyway was told that the phone had been despatched on the 18th November, I asked where my confirmation email was, oh what a surprise when I was told that their systems were down and they were unable to email their customers. After more phone calls, they finally sent an email confirming that it had been despatched, but didn't commit themselves by stating the actual date.

By 30th Nov and still no phone, I sent them a really 'snotty' email stating that I required a full refund and if this wasn't resolved to a satisfactory conclusion then I would be contacting Ebay. Surprise, surprise I received an email the next day stating that the item had been despatched on the that same day (1st Dec) and that because it was in transit I couldn't get a refund. According to their delivery details, it states that 1st class recorded would take 2/3 working days. By Friday 4th Dec, still no phone, I contacted the Resolution Centre, worried that I wouldn't be able to get a refund.

You see, they're very cleaver, in order to open a case with the Resolution Centre, this needs to be done within 45 days of making payment - Ecell state that if you do not receive the item, wait 15 working days and then contact them about a refund - by the time the 15th day would come along, the 45 days to open a case would have expired - get my drift - so had I waited I would have lost out completely, no phone, no refund.

The case has only just been opened and Ecell have 10 days to respond. I will keep you updated with the outcome - I have asked Ebay for a full refund - waiting a month for an item to be sent out and constantly being lied to is utterly unacceptable.

A suggested approach

Let me start by saying that I have received a refund from eBay via PayPal. The refund was NOT from PayPal who closed my case "because I had a case open with eBay"! and it was NOT from Elcell. In fact eBay say they have looked into this and found that "neither the buyer nor the seller were at fault"!!

Even though I only paid £14.95 and a although I now have my money back, I am keen to do something to stop this company from their fraudulent trading activities.

Anyone who has dealt with ecell knows how the company 'plays the game'. The dispute resolution procedures with PayPal and eBay do not deal with the issue and are very very frustrating for buyers when the seller is misrepresenting the facts.

The police will not be interested as most compalints appear to be civil offences. Trading Standards and Apple Inc Counterfeit Division (the item I bought was a cheap copy of an Apple product) do care but they move sloooowly and that means more frustration for buyers.

As this site rightly points out. The sensible way forward is mass action from us all proving there is strength in numbers. So here is my proposal for us all to consider:

We all buy a cheap item from ecell (don't scream yet... bear with me!) They have several counterfeit items listed for less than £15.

We wait for delivery and check that the item is indeed counterfeit. We don't bother with the eBay or PayPal resolution processes. Selling counterfeit items is a CRIMINAL offence. We leave negative feedback and then INDIVIDUALLY, start proceedings (using the very simple Money Claim Online Service) against the company and it's director to recover our money.

This will cost us each a maximum of £15 for the item and £30 for court fees BUT...

Elcell Communications Limited AND Murat Celikkol the company's director would receive hundreds of County Court Claims and would be unable to defend them as we will be holding the counterfeit items. :-)

The court will then order Elcell to repay us each the cost of the item, PLUS the court fees PLUS interest at 8%.

Elcell and Mr Celikkot will have several county court judgements against them.

Each time we do that, it will cost them several times the cost of the item they sold.

I think we can shut him down without eBay or PayPal's help and if the media get involved...

Does anyone else think this is a good idea? It will cost us all a little money but with a very positive chance of success.

You can email me at ecellvictims@gmail.com

not sure

I like the principle of the idea but I don't think that this site could ever organise action of more than 20-30 people tops. You think that this kind of numbers would be able to affect the finances of ecell? It would be annoying for sure, but effective, I am not sure. Until we decide on this I will contact blackpool police and ask whether a report co-signed by say 20 people would have any chance making it into a criminal investigation.

e Cell

I have also ordered a mobile from the above they are crooks the original phone never arrived nor did the replacement I have been waiting months for a re fund ( still waiting).tried claiming through pay pal but due to delay this was not possible.

Blackberry Bold bought from e_cell

Hello

I bought a Blackberry Bold from these guys. I received it very late. The phone has had problems ever since. The track roller ball sticks, the speakers have gone. Ive tried to contact them to return it, and no one answers. I tried phoning blackberry to mention that my phone has 1 yr warranty, and they just passed the buck onto e-cell.

I will write letters of complaint to the Local MP/ Lancashire evening post/ EBay and Blackberry

try bbc watchdog

try bbc watchdog as well - also contact blackpool police; they already know the case. Good Luck!

Same story...

Hi Guys,

There is certainly a trend here! I ordered two phones on the 8th of Dec and heard nothing back regarding the despatch until I followed up. Eventually got a response advising they despatched on the 15th. I then got a further email saying they shipped on the 18th of Dec?? So i'm patiently waiting to see what arrives. I'm holding my breath that they arrive in time for Christmas!

Hi

my advice to you is to start a dispute immediately. Merry Xmas

Yet another victim!!!

Ordered a Nokia 6720 from them on eBay on 17th December 2009. Their ad stated 1st class delivery from UK next day, they subsequently changed this to shipping after 5-10 days. i.e. now too late for a xmas present. After several calls and emails they assure me it was despatched from their UK office in Manchester on 24th Dec by first class recorded but they are strangely quiet and confused (Chinese suddenly comes in handy for them at this point) when I ask for the shipping / tracking number. Just spoke to Royal Mail, if item had been shipped first class 24th Dec 2009 I would by now have received it on 4th January 2010. Point is it was meant to be 1st class next day shipping and I ordered on 17th Dec 2009, 18 days ago. They claim they cannot be held responsible or shipping delays but I don't think they've sent anything. Their latest claim is they cannot investigate until a whole month has gone by and then they will 'start' to look into it. As others have said, seems they cleverly hide behind loads of positive feedback on minor items worth between 99p and £5 - my sense is that they are taking the big bucks for phones and only despatching if you make a big enough stink, in the meanwhile they thrive off those who give up or hold onto the money for ages before presumably dissapearing one day? Complete con merchants, has really turned me off eBay who should be ashamed of themselves for ignoring this.

Ecell/Ebay

I too have been experiencing similar problems, and have today written a complaint to ebay about this situation. What I am particularly annoyed about is that if the bad feedback shown here had been expressed on ebay I would never have ordered, as their customer satisfaction score would be greatly reduced. I ordered item on 29th december, ebay site states confirmation of order and an expected delivery date of 31st Dec, item was allegedly shipped on 5th Jan, and guess what still not arrived. Even taking into account the bad weather, new year etc, Royal Mail would have delivered the item by now, and I am wondering if the time line ecell quote for reporting lost item is useful to them not to have to refund monies. Reports to pay pal have to be within 45 days, so if you take a two week window, that most reasonable people would allow, coupled with the 4 week window ecell required, you have just about reached your 45 days. What I am finding very frustration is the lack of assistance, with everything being done by email, whether with ecell, pay pal or ebay, and the ever growing 48 hour response time. 48 hours is fine, providing you get a proper answer, but ecell so far are on their 5th day to produce a tracking number!. Will keep you posted, and if anyone has a phone number in the uk for ecell please could you post it.

also duped...PROOF THEY ARE BASED IN ASIA!

I also stumbled upon this forum after making a purchase of a £350 phone. However I decided to initiate communication with ecell a few days after buying. I requested a delivery report for my e-mail. interestingly this is what I received:

'Your message was read on Saturday, January 16, 2010 4:46:30 AM (GMT+08:00) Beijing, Chongqing, Hong Kong, Urumqi.'

They are based in the UK as well

They certainly have part of their operations in Hong Kong (certainly their help dept is based there) but they also certainly have representation in the UK. Murat Celikkol heads e-cell in the UK and is based in Blackpool. This is confirmed with the police in Blackpool.

E-Cell Fraud : Headphones

Hi,

I purchased headphones from e-cell on ebay on 5th Jan 2010 and as per their email, it was shipped on 6th Jan. I was asked to wait until 15th Jan and (as per their reputation), the item did not arrive. I emailed them on 15th and received a response that the item is lost and they have reprocessed the item and sent it on 15th itself and was asked to wait until 26th 2010. This has never happened before with me, so I checked internet and found this forum. I also noticed that all the emails e-cell sent me were outside of ebay inbox and were sent by 'Grace'.

Big Thanks to this forum, I have now filed a dispute on PayPal and to my compalint, I received a message that the item is shipped on 11th (contradicting to the response I received from them on 15th) and I should be receiving it within 7 days. It was 18th Jan yesterday and no post arrived so I posted a message again today in PayPal and asked them to post a reply or I shall file a claim.

This is highly frustrating, but want to thank this forum, its owner and contributos for guiding me in right direction.

Regards,
S

You're welcome

and good luck with your claim!

headset

just stumbled across this forum thanks to google.

My wife to be is a presenter on a online radio station and our headset broke so we ordered 1 from these clowns which turned up on time and was ok till cable snapped so as e cell were on time and cheap ordered another set - big mistake as we paid on 22 january and its now 12 february and guess where this is going.
Yep you guessed it ..... no headset so my wife to be has not been able to do her regular show on venom fm.
I ordered another headset elsewhere 2 days ago and thats saying it hasnt even been dispatched so it seems e cell are not alone.
back to e cell, i emailed them twice and got no response so i phoned them on the 10th february and was told to give it till today then contact them, sent them an email and after reading this got ebay involved, and just to add salt into the wound i may even have a word with the radio station owner to see if i can get this mentioned on air as im part of the admin team behind the scenes.
In my view nobody should ever use e cell again as they seem to be as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike

please do

Good luck and yes, please do mention these scammers on air if possible.

Praise for this webpage.

Hi Ladies, Gentlemen, Boys & Girls.

Last Wednesday (20/1/2010) I was shopping on eBay. After much consideration, I decided to purchase a SE W995 from e-cell.
However, immediately afterwards I felt doubt but I always feel like that when I purchase from eBay.

The doubt did not not subside so I decided to search e-cell on Google and I come across this webpage.
After reading the experiences of others here, I felt instant dread and frustration.

I traced other buyers who had purchased the same handset previously from the feedback left on eBay and asked them to confirm how long delivery took, was the handset new and as described etc...
I recieved 2 replies, both were positive. However in one of the replies, the guy said that his handset took 2 weeks to arrive and the games in the phone were in Japanese.

Enough was enough, I decided that I no longer wanted the handset. How am I to know thats it authentic? I know fakes are easy duplicate. (Pressuming I actually recieve it in the 1st instance)

I logged into PayPal and raised a dispute, I said that the handset hasn't arrived but I also felt the need to let the company know what I really thought.
I told the company that I am aware that they outsource from Hong Kong and I also told them that there customer service is terrible (A tame word given the evidence on here)
I demanded a full refund (£259.99) within 24 hours. I clearly stated that if I wasn't issued the refund, I will notify PayPal & eBay who will ensure that the refund is issued.

This was last night at around 22:50 GMT (UK)

This morning at 08:20(GMT)I logged into PayPal to be greeted with a full refund accompinied with a note which says:

"If we are based abroad how come we are VAT registered. How about you visit our warehouse in blackpool and make those ridiculous allegations."

I'm glad that I had a lucky escape from the circus that is e-cell!

I'm glad

I'm glad this page helped you out Scott. Good luck with your future ebay purchasing.

I 'purchased' an iPhone 3Gs New Unlocked 16G BLACK

Today is the 27th of Jan 2001, I bought and paid £544.99 for the phone on Friday 15th Jan, it was not then 'dispatched' (thats if it has been) until Friday 22nd Jan, one week after full payment which to be honest is way way too long and still have not recieved it even though estimated delivery was stated for 25th - 26th Jan.

So i started to google e_cell and instantly came to this page to see that many people have found themselves in the same boat so after reading a lot of the posts here i instantly opened a dispute with them through Pay Pal. They also wern't picking up phones and the live chat was also not working although i had been using it less than 2 hours previously. Although i had been in e-mail contact with them the best contact i've had with them is through my claim (very fast responses, guess they want to keep my money)

This is how it went:

I still have not received my iPhone that I bought on the 15th of January.

Payment was instantly cleared and funds were withdrawn from my account. You have my money but I do not have my item.

Supposedly the phone was dispatched on the 22nd to arrive either 25th or 26th of January by Royal Mail First Class Recorded. I have spent over £500 for this item and for this price I would expect a dispatch and delivery within a few days not to still be waiting almost two weeks after I have paid for it.

I have also requested my tracking number...which is not provided upon dispatch...and was told it was not readily available. I have not received this as of yet, I have also been told that delivery is beyond your control, as I do understand that Royal Mail first class, does not take this long. Generally it is delivered next day and if not the day after that.

Just as an example that Royal Mail are operating properly I purchased an item from the apple store on Monday 25th and received it today Wed 27th with royal mail first class.

If I do not receive my item soon I will escalade this dispute to a claim to gain my money back as this is extremely poor business and I am, as are many others, extremely unhappy with the service that you provide.

The live chat that i used less than two hours ago is now unavailable but still within operating times and the phone lines go dead after about 6-7 rings every single time....

What are you playing at?

Hi

This will be delivered by Saturday. If you do not recieve it by then I would be more than happy to issue you a refund in full. If however you do not wish to wait that long then I can of course recall the item and issue you a refund in full. Just let me know how you wish to proceed.

Kind Regards

I will wait until saturday, this will remain open until that time.

If i do not receive my phone in full working order etc and that it is a legit phone because i have read that many people have received blacklisted phones or phones that were soon blacklisted i will escalate to a claim.

Hi

First of all ours are the best on eBay. They aren't like the other garbage where people have took out contracts then sold them on eBay unlocked and then do an insurance claim on them. Ours are imported from one country in the world where Apple sell them without network locks. They are units which can be freely updated unlike the other garbage. Upon receipt I will expect that you close the dispute within 24 hours. If you don't agree to that then I would prefer to refund you now. I don't have a problem with the dispute being open but I expect it to be closed immediately and expect this Friday delivered.

Kind Regards

I dont seem to have a problem with that at this moment in time, but it seems that there is something you may be hiding if you are willing to refund me now before i receive the item rather than the dispute being open a few days after i receive it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

I am waiting until this friday, although saturday was stated before hand...If I do not receive the item like i have said i will press them to give me my money back.
He seems pretty insistive that I close the dispute immediately within 24 hours or receipt which seems a bit suspitious. When (if) I get my phone I will do as much testing as humanly possible to the phone to make sure that it will update, and not lock, that it is unlocked etc and will also call Orange who i am currently with to see if they can run the IMEI number through etc to see if it is stolen/blacklisted.

These people need to be prosicuted and banned from trading in the UK/EU or even from trading period, they are nothing but criminals

The pain

The pain and frustration these people have caused will one day, one way or the other, come back and fry them - I certainly am working towards that end. Yes, they are nothing but criminals.

Good luck with your order.

ECell - The one that got away....

I just nearly bought via paypal on ebay. Oh my gosh, if I had done that, and I was the victim like you, I would have found this mans address and invited everyone on this list, first of all to come watch me burn his house, his address is available via 192 company directors info..., and then to join me looting his factory with some of my very violent friends. I may have been in trouble, thank you so much for sharing your experiences, I am still free. Yes. Whoever set this up 'you are the man' Thank you, thank you.

Keep it on the lookout

for crooks and clowns like that indecent piece of shit, Murat Celikkol, who's giving a bad name to all honest UK traders.

ecell

just discovered this site to confirm my suspisions that i,ve been ripped off only for a few quid desktop charger though, my heart goes out to you have lost hundreads ,off to ebay now to leave some damming feedback hopefully it will save someone making the same mistakes

mobile phone £295

I bought a mobile phone from them and returned it due to fault. more than a month and still havent received refung. Ebay doesnt act as it is beyond 45 days ago purchase. Its STEALING in the best form. they keep sending me sorry emails but no refund.. at the moment i'mm just angry..

why not us people get

why not us people get together and go gather in front of a responsible organization. I wont leave a penny of mine be stolen.

Working on it...

Actually I am in contact with both Blackpool police and several solicitors in the Blackpool area on how best to proceed as a group of victims. Will post here and contact you all individually once I have specific news. Cheers!

They sent me faulty phone,i returned it but never got the refund

What else to say. It has been six months now full of template emails that they are going to sort this out. That I should allow another 6-9 days to get my refund. Iam really crossed now and thinking about puting an legal action on the matter but rumours are that it is actually honk kong company so I might never be able to get my 250 pounds back. :(

Update -

Well I finally recieved my phone some 3 weeks after ordering, whilst it works for dual sim, there is no manual so operating is pretty limited, after several emails I was told there was nothing they could do and I should look at forums! Good quality service eh!. Setting up internet has also been a disaster, worked once! I have sinced bought a genuine Samsung I900 Omnia from GCOMUK Limited, who by contrast to Ecell, cannot do enough for you. Their goods arrive from Hong Kong in 4 days, they have a UK phone number and UK Email Number, and I have spoken to them a few times, and they cant do enough for you. Granted you cant by the clone phones, but their mobiles are genuine articles at a greatly reduced rate than those in the UK. My I900 has windows 6.1, 16GB memory plus lots of other things to get to know. I was able to register this phone with Samsung, join their Apps club etc, down load updates to software etc etc.

Good luck to all of you in your claims, and for those not committed to buying from ECELL Look at GCOMUK Ltd.

Refund

I've just been directed to this site after enquiring about Elcell. They were supposed to refund me £250 since last October, but all I was getting was template emails as someone else pointed out.

I was stupid that I beleived their emails at first, and now for the past two weeks they did not reply back to me despite me sending them emails.

I read that someone is in contact with blackpool police and will be emailing people on what to do? Please add me to the list or any way I can get my money back. Regards!

Hi

There are four things you can do right now, besides contacting the police which will not be able to help you for ordinary claims and will suggest that you contact a solicitor for advice regarding civil cases:

1. If purchase was less than 45 calendar days ago you can launch an ebay/paypal claim
2. If you used a credit card for your purchase you should contact your credit cards's fraud dept and ask if they can do something.
3. This site conrtains advice on how to use the HMCS online claims service in order to get your money back - this works great.
4. Go to this page and file a complaint: http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/contact?action=complain

Good luck

If only I'd seen this page first!

Wow, is all I can say... I can't believe the list of people on this page and others that have been shafted by these crooks. What I can believe less is how they are still getting away with it. I made the unfortunate mistake of falling for their professional looking eBay page, and the fact that they had a phone number, that actually answered!
Well more sucker me, is all I can say. Three weeks down the line and no sign of the phone that they were damn swift in taking my £480 for. Many emails and phonecalls looking for tracking numbers, and finally I google them and this is what I turn up. Imagine how sickened I feel that I am just another fool in a list of people who are being taken in by these professional con artists.
I have registered a dispute with PayPal, and if I don't receive a satisfactory reply by Monday, will be escalating it to a claim. Hopefully PayPal will live up to their hype, as I can ill afford to lose this money.
Unfortunately I am not in the UK, so any other means of recovering my money is pretty much closed to me.
Ebay will be receiving a letter from me, thought how much heed it gets remains to be seen.
I feel your pain, my brothers and sisters!

other options

option 1: http://fotios.org/node/2196
option 2: simply contact your credict card fraud dept if you paid by credit card or credit card linked to ur paypal account

good luck

Wow... PayPal FTW

Just had notification from PayPal that the transaction has been refunded!

...

Which, when you think about it, is an admission by e_cell, elcell, that the item was never shipped, despite their guarantees that it had been shipped 2 weeks ago.

exactly

and it is because of this kind of things (shown to be systematic based on our cumulative evidence) that they would get badly burned if we were to take them to court on a class action

paper trail

This sort of document trail would prove valuable in the event of an action.
Given that I have had a refund, I, personally, would have no damages as such, but the correspondence between me and e_cell, and subsequently between PayPal and myself, would still be admissible as supporting evidence. I would recommend that everyone who has had negative dealings with this person, regardless of eventual outcome, retain ALL related information and (if possible) make it available to anyone that may require it.

Not the only ones...

Just out of curiosity, I spent 2 minutes googling these crooks...

It's obvious what this scammer's business model is... sell loads of cheap crap ensuring loads of positive feedback and whenever anyone purchases a high value item, rip them off... keep them stringing on with false promises until the 45 day dispute model lapses and they're screwed.

I'm stunned that eBay continues to let them trade.

Never refund my money

I'm another victim of ecell. I bought an E72 nokia mobile in eBay las November, 310 GBP. And after read some of this post I can understand the way Ecell guide to me. First the inform to me I should wait for 7 days after I paid with Paypal. They called to me it was a safe period to avoid fraudulent buyiers, really was the first period I've lost. After 7 days they dispatch the item and deliver to me withwin 15 days (from Uk to Spain), another lost period. When I have the item i decided to return because it isn't going to be compatible with spanish setting (great for Nokia Spain, they inform me wrong at first and I decide to buy to Uk, because in Spain doesn't exist this mobile at this moment). The question is that I returned this item within the 7 days the inform in conditions (ebay page, ecell). After 2 days speaking with ecell by phone they give me a RMA number to do the return. This happened around middel December. 21st of December they receive the Item, checked by postal tracking number. Since first of January I write them every 3 or 4 days and always answer within 48 hours with good words tellin me that my refund is on the way and they will send me a check email when they pay me by paypal. I'm still waiting, tree months later and no refund and alwas answer with pleasant words. I put a complaint in the UE consumer office in spain 15 days before but they are very busy and still doesn't answer me. I can't put any disput neither ebay nor paypal because Ecell made that I lost of my safe periods to put a complaint and get back my money. Ebay onlyu said to me that I should email them frecunetly and with good words but I don't know what I have to do now I'm very sad with this and very tired after 3 months. I insist with ebay in Spain I think they should delete this ebayer but I'm only a person who have a problem with ecell.
I only write my experience, don't use, don't trust, don't buy in ecell. Sorry for my english maybe not very good but I think It is understood. Thank you and good luck with your complaints.
Eduardo from Spain

Refunded after 4mth

Out of the blue I today got my refund from e_cell of 650 GBP! The failed order was from Oct, refund promised since mid-Nov and then I have probably written their template-replying customer service 1x pr week. Since January I kept referring to fotios' site (thanks Fotios!), the European Consumer Centre, ripoffreport.com and since lately the consumerdirect.gov.uk mentioned from Fotios' mass mail. Something worked apparently.

how to get refund after so

how to get refund after so many months,is there any good advice?

just follow the advice

just follow the advice of the post right avove yours and throughout this site. The consumerdirect link is: http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/contact?action=complain Contacting your credit card's fraud dept (if you paid by credit card via paypal or whatever) is always helpful - tell them you have been defrauded and provide a link to this page. Good luck!

I have the exact same issues.

I have the exact same issues. I ordered a Motorola Milestone for around £375 from e_cell and they gave me the same complete crap about the period of 5 to 10 days for funds to clear. It took two weeks until they said it was posted but now after almost a week since the email stating it was posted I still have nothing. They claim they are based in Manchester on the auction and everytime I've used Royal Mail in the past within the Greater Manchester area first class and even sometimes second class items have arrived the next day.

Been emailing the seller all the duration of this and they are rude, unhelpful, useless and most of all...SLOW! Also tried ringing them and just the same thing apart from when she got bored she started using the silence button and just leaving me there waiting. They claim in the auction that you get the tracking number in the dispatch email but I didn't, I only got it today after asking for it yesterday. Called Royal Mail and they said that it's a genuine tracking number but looks like it hasn't been posted yet, which I assume is because the package with that tracking number has
never been scanned in for the first time. Looks to me like they have just got a Recorded Signed For slip which you can order from Royal Mail in advance in order to fill in the details before a collection rather than at a Post Office.

I have opened a PayPal dispute and immediately escalated it to a claim. This seller is pathetic and fraudulent and I would advise the thread starter to print this all off and present it to the Trading Standards Agency as ther enough here for them to investigate the seller and hopefully ban them from trading as a company.

standard treatment

yeah looks like you got the standard treatment. Good luck with your claim. BTW, please do present the evidence on this page to the Trading Standards Agency if you can; I have already done so but it is somtimes the case that people will look at something only when there's a number of people complaining.

I had the same problem with

I had the same problem with them a few years back but it was only for £17 so i just made a claim with paypal and left it there. As there a company they will have 1000s of Recorded Signed For slips which has the tracking number on but they won't track as the service hasn't being pay for yet, it done to save time at the post office that all but it help him rip buyer's. Yeah i think they did work out of manchester well salford but that company look like it being Dissolved, look like the guy who run it has used all different names but the last name always the same 'CEM CELIKKOL , GOKSEL CELIKKOL , NEVIN CELIKKOL , TIMUR CELIKKOL . Do a director search using CELIKKOL as the last name on the link below as it might help, you can pay a small fees for more info on the company's aswell

https://secure.creditgate.com/search/search.aspx?directorsurname=+Celikkol&directorfirstname=&AdditionalSearch=&IsDirectorSearch=1

thanks

Ecell

Spent 240 GBP on a phone.

Phone took one month to arrive.

Phone keyboard is in Chinese and I cannot make any phone calls.

Also, I found someone's email saved on the phone, which they assured me was "brand new".

I have been arguing with them over email for two weeks now. They do not want to send me a refund and consistently tell me the phone is fine and that it's is brand new.

They NEVER pick up the phone!

If anyone has been in the position I am now, please reply to this, and tell me what I can do.

These people are thieves and their place is behind bars.

Hi Luca

There are four things you can do right now, besides contacting the police which will not be able to help you for ordinary claims and will suggest that you contact a solicitor for advice regarding civil cases:

1. If purchase was less than 45 calendar days ago you can launch an ebay/paypal claim
2. If you used a credit card for your purchase you should contact your credit cards's fraud dept and ask if they can do something.
3. This site conrtains advice on how to use the HMCS online claims service in order to get your money back - this works great. See my related post here: http://fotios.org/node/2196
4. Go to this page and file a complaint: http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/contact?action=complain

Good luck

Lying Bastards!!!!

I purchased the item from these idiots a week ago and still hasn't arrived and keep being told to wait till 19th March for item to arrive and yet they advertise it will arrive in 2-3 working days. Tried calling them, sent dozen of e-mails and keep getting same stupid response:

Hi,

Thank you for your email. As per previous correspondence, please give it until 19-mar-10 for the item to arrive.

Please do not hesitate to contact us again should you have additional concerns.

Best regards,

Noemi

I seriously HATE them and if I could go to their address I'd seriously do some proper damage to whoever is running this business, arghhh it really MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL!!!! Stay away from these c**ts and I pray to God they'll be shut down immediately!! How can eBay possibly tolerate sellers like this!?!?!?!?!

I have felt your anger

but the only things you can really do without risking a jail sentence is follow the advice I just gave to Luca above. I actually got my money back through my credit card's fraud dept 5 months after purchace.

Good luck!

I bought a phone with ecell

Claim

File an ebay/paypal claim right away!

got scammed and need help

I was also scammed by this user and need your help. I ordered a samsung phone from these guys. They told me they resent for two times which of course never arrived. Then I asked for a refund that didn't come also. By the time I was sure of the situation, it's been already 50 days and now I can't file an ebay/paypal claim. Is there anyway that I can get my money? If I contact my bank maybe? What should I do? This bastard should be thrown off from ebay!!

These people should be thrown off e-bay. I don't think ebay needs the profit from this as..ole.

I wish I had seen this forum before buying!!

Same problems here, instigated ebay dispute yesterday so should get refund in 1o days via ebay and strongly suggest anyone who has made a recent phone purchase does the same before the 45 days expire!

I agree Ebay must be forced to ban this seller reagrdless of the amount of money they make from him.

E_Cell Con Artist's I will be more aware of any ebay seller now

I recently bought an item from these clown's,and normally i would do my homework before i purchase anything, but on this occasion i mistakenly jumped in at the deep end and went straight for the kill, yes i know your probably all thinking ooohhhh nooooo, what i spent was not a great deal for most of you (£15),But to me it's the raw deal that ive had,so here goe's : I purchased a backup battery from e_cell off their ebay site, cos my iphone keep's running out of power cos of the high demand, anyway, this looked like the right deal for me,very appealing, due to the fact that another company wanted £70 for the same sort of thing,so yes i thought it was a cheaper alternative,my mistake,The item turned up,no problem, only when i came to use the device did i find out that it was not as described,1) said it had a metal stand on the back for video viewing, when in fact it's plastic, and would not tollerate the General every day use,2)It also said that it would sync via Itunes, how wrong was I,Ive tried 3 different cable's,Still with no luck, according to there website it state's fully compatable with itune's,so i contacted e_cell last thur's 8th April,Recieved a reply this morning 12th April, asking for my firmware version + Model of phone ?,Doooh,I would have thought they knew that i had an iphone considering that's what the battery was listed for ?,So i got impatient and rang there phone number (08712000499) and the first time i got cut off,So irang them straight back,I got an american sounding lady, who could not understand me,so after getting impatient,i got a little more firm in what i was saying,I then patiently told this lady what was wrong,She then told me that i would have to wait to be contacted by their Tech Support,to which i replyed "No chance,I'm not waiting another minute,Let me tell you this,I am a certified Computer Engineer, and i currently review iphone3gs Product's on my YouTube Channel,to which i have over 1300 Subscriber's,Do you honestly think i don't know what i'm talking about when i say that this product DOE'S NOT WORK !!",She got stuck for word's,and instantly promised to provide me with the Return's address for me to send it back for a full refund ?,Up to now i have still not recieved that Email ???,What should i do,Wait another 24hr's ?

Ebay and this Rogue Trader

I wholeheartedly agree with all the other trusting souls on this site who looked at the feedback score and ordered on the basis of it being high. Sadly I read the details once the item didn't come. Luckily mine is just £5 but the principle is the same. I have posted this website address to Ebay and asked Customer Support to tell me why he is still trading on Ebay. I hope that this gets resolved because generally Ebay is a good place to trade and I have saved a fortune over the years - even though I lost it all again on selling!! what with fees etc. lol

Some people have no scruples and I don't suppose for one minute he is losing any sleep over it. Maybe one day, enough people will be able to arrange a coach trip to Blackpool and collect our items in person.

Also, if this seller is smuggling in goods, should HM Customs and Excise be made aware of this?

Hope I can help in some way.

Soos

And here's another one!!!

I too brought a mobile phone from E.Cell, via Ebay my phone did arrive, but started having problems, just not functioning properly, basicly been fobbed of by e.cell and still trying to get my money back, unfortunatly its now over the 45 day deadline so Ebay and paypal are not interested, even though I told them both that the phone was sold to me as a UK handset, and when I took it to a Nokia repair centre to have it fixed, they told me they couldn't fix the phone as it is a Singapore import.
I've just written my last letter to E.cell to ask for a full refund for the phone and other costs incured, or I will be taking them to court.
If there is anything I've missed then please let me know, as at the moment I'm nearly £200 out of pocket.

Small loss, but still annoyed!

Hi

Am shocked to read all of these other customers of E_cell have had similar problem to me.
Luckily my loss is only a few pounds, but i can sympathise with the frustration everyone feels at dealing with these clowns. Why are they still on ebay?? What a joke ebay are!
I bought a dual sim holder from e_cell, and when the peice of crap arrived it wouldn't fit in my phone, it just wasn't compatable even though it was advertised as being compatable for all phones. Only cost 3.95, but still..i wanted to return the item and get my refund..but no..that would be too easy!. All i wanted was a return address..very simple, but they wouldn't give me it, i sent 4 emails explaining that the sim holder was useless, and when they eventually replied they fobbed me off with 'were not ignoring you, your details are being reviewed'..
Just give me the damn address!!!
I've accepted the loss now and am relieved that it wasn't more. I feel really sorry for all of the people who have been screwed for hundreds of pounds...hunt e_cell down and try and get your money back..well done for mounting this internet campaign..Ebay should get their finger out and ban them.

Good luck!

ecell received the phone, not as described returned and waiting

Hi,
Wow can't believe so many problems and these guys still allowed to trade.
I purchased a phone in early february took three - four weeks to arrive but it did arrive in normal post after quite a few phone calls and emails. The menu and items on the phone didn't match what was advertised so we returned they gave some return number and we sent it signed for delivery. They have acknowledged the return and say refund will be with us in 5 - 7 working days on three occasions and then said it was on escalation urgent refund request.. still no money refunded. Have issued a complaint with ebay but of course now it is outside the 45 days they allow. I have issued a case with paypal for investigation and assistance. I have made a request with the credit card company I paid with. I am now in the process of printing items off to attend the police station and trading standards to make a complaint. Something has to pay off eventually. I am also complaining that they don't advertise the cost of calls to them when they are above the normal costs, the faxct the line cuts off several times before you finally get to speak with someone who sounds like they are reading from standard lines and are unwilling to discuss faxcts and figures and give real info. If you demand to speak with someone who can they cut you off.
Tempted to go the blackpool address and see for myself as I don't live that far away...but i believe the gentleman trades through quite a few internet places for all kind of items not just ecell. How they managed to get such good feed back grades when it is more than obvious they are a con is far and beyond what should be monitored by all major online traders like ebay and amazon.
i will post if I get anywhere but i am on a mission now to bring some kind of charges against the company..even if you have them removed they will re-appear under a different guise and continue to rip people off...so monitoring and following then proceding with criminal charges is probably the best way forward.
good luck to all but i have a feeling it would be through a private court to regain money lost and the police etc... watchdog is next !!
very sincere best wishes to all
Jane Akarsu

well done

well done jane - yeah something should pay off eventually. Don't forget the option of HMCS money claim online service (MCOL) that I have used and is very good (all details you need are on this page/site)

another victim of e_cell

Hi
i'm another victim of e_cell,
I just bought a mobile phone samsung on the 5th January 2010 from e_cell,and i spend 162.48,my phone did not arrive, and till now i still waitng for the refund, every email i receive from them says that they are waiting from the refunds department.i am very angry for this seller, please add me to the list or any way i can get my money back.

Ecell - Ipod Chargers

If this is the same E-Cell I bought some ipod charger from, then they are a bunch of shysters.
I Purchased 2 chargers for Ipod Touch 3G, the first one went faulty within about 10 days. When I contacted then they replied that goods only come with 7 day warranty (says a lot for the faith they put in their products.) The second has now also gone faulty. Luckily they were not expensive as with many of the other people who have purchased phones. However its the principle of these people getting away with peoples hard earned cash the annoys me. What are Ebay doing about it ?

Ordered iPhone in October 2009, get nothing till now

Hi,

i´m Daniel from Germany. I ordered an iPhone for at least 730 Euro in October 2009 - they´ve send me nothing till now (april/may 2010). No refund was made, they didn´t send the money back via paypal. I´ve written about 20 e-mails. nothing happened, and i don´t know what i can do more. Unfortunatly i did not access the ebay buyer protection in time. Any idea, what could be a solution for my problem with e-cell?

Thanx and greets,

Daniel

the answer is here

just look a few posts above for a number of suggested solutions to your problem. Good luck!

Yet another Victim of E-Cell

Hi - Sadly I am also a victim of E-Cell
Bought a phone for 129.99, which didn't arrive. I was advised (after being cut off a few times) that I would have to wait 15 working days before they would chase up with Royal Mail. Waited patiently and as nothing had arrived, I contacted them again and they said they would send a replacement and put in a claim against Royal Mail. Again I waited and when I phoned them they said that the replacement phone had also been lost and that they would issue a refund. Of course the refund didn't materialise, so I firstly took it up with Paypal. Paypal surprisingly wouldn't entertain a claim as I had taken too long to take it up with them. Perhaps this is a ploy used by E-Cell - getting customers to wait in hope for their products just long enough not to be able to take up the complaint with Paypal. Took it up with my credit card company who refunded me almost immediately. I couldn't even leave negative feedback for E-Cell as I had not taken delivery of the phone and the order was effectively cancelled. I am usually more careful when buying on Ebay, but as the %feedback was good and I read through the negative feedback - I surmised that they were bound to have some negative feedback with the amount of business they do.

Well done for setting up this site - I only wished I had seen it before I took the plunge.

I finally got my refund!

Hi, I also was a victim of elcell. I bought a phone for 250.00 Pounds. They sent me a chinese import which was very different to the one advertsied. It had a logo when it ws specifically stated that it did not have one on the eBay Page. I informed elcell and they told me that I will be getting my money back on returning the mobile. I returned the mobile and I was told that I will have my money back in 7 days, which I obviously did not. I kept on running after them with many emails. I also contacted Consumer Services in the UK (www.consumerdirect.gov.uk) as well as the EU consumer services both from the country you come from as well as in the UK (ecc@tsi.org.uk) and (http://www.ukecc.net) . Both were very helpful. I contacted and informed both PayPal and eBay who simply informed me that they cannot do anything about it as 45 days since purchased had passed. I have finally received the money after 3 months. So I suggest those who have not yet received anything, contact the customer service as mentioned above as well as the EU. Keep on persisting with contacting elcell on any email address you have. Here is one just in case (a.kirkham@elcell.co.uk). You can also try PayPal or eBay but they are ridiculously unhelpful although a company abuses on their own sites.

Keep persisting and good luck.

Great!

Thank you for getting back to us with news and info. You are the second person in a short while to report getting their refund after contacting consumerdirect.gov.uk - so, it seems this is a good way to claim your maney after the 45 days deadline for ebay and paypal claims has elapsed. Keep kicking e_cell butt!

e-cell rip off

I have bought a phone from e-cell, the transaction is following the normal e-cell pattern. Should have found this page earlier - they all cry!

I bought 0n 06/06/2010 I have opened an ebay complaint, opened a pay pal complaint, I will get in touch with my credit card company (with which i paid ebay)

What other action should I take at this stage?

Jonty.

e-cell non performance

emailed them through ebay quoting this web site and saying that I would leave no stone unturned in my pursuit of them.

Full Refund through paypal 2 hours later.

But I feel so sorry for all the others not so fortunate as me.

And yes I have checked and the money has been paid back!!

Thankyou for this web site, it really helped.

I am glad

Glad you got your money back! Take care

I have been scammed by this

I have been scammed by this ebay seller. I bought one mobilephone from ecell which costs me pounds and ecell shipped it after two weeks since they said they need to prevent paypal fraud. OK,thats fine, I can understand, then almost one month, the phone arrived at canada, at my home. but my girlfriend does not like at all. I immediately return the phone to ecell in the same day as I received it. All accessories are still in the small sealed plastic bags. Everything is in original states. I packed it and shipped it out in the same day ,wish to receive refund asap.two weeks later, I believe the phone should arrive at UK from canada. Now its already 6 weeks since paid. Emailed ecell, been told they received it and need another 5-7 days to process refund. OK, find, I understand. then w8,two weeks past, no refund, email them again, they still saying we assure you that we will refund you, and we will investigate why the refund processing lasts so long. Good enough, its already two months, I cant leave negative feedback , i cant open a paypal dispute, everything is gone, the phone and the money are all lost. E_Cell is totally a cheater.

I bought a Samsung Omnia 2 for Eur352. After week running after them they told me that a replacement was being sent. Again nothing. I opened a case in the resolution cente at Ebay and e_cell told me that a refund was in place. Weeks passed and nothing was received. I escalated the case for Ebay review and finally received my refund only thanks to Ebay. AVOID like plague.

eCell are rubbish!!!!!

AVOID eCell!
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Mon, 2010-08-02 18:09.

I ordered a cellular phone from eCell. After the payment I received no messages for two days and begun to get suspicious. I send a couple of emails without any response. After that I found this thread that confirmed my suspicions. I made a dispute in PayPal straight away and got my money back during the same day. Thanks for all of you for sharing this information. In their answer for the dispute eCell wrote some rubbish that my PayPal transfer was still under clearing and inspection (after 5 days). An obvious scam, AVOID eCell!

And one more comment

False Advertising

Submitted by MERCURY CADMIUM BATTERY (not verified) on Tue, 2010-08-03 14:01.

This ebay listing (Item Id:200451586379) by eCell attracted my attention because it offered a 9V 6F22 6R61 HEAVY DUTY MERCURY CADMIUM BATTERY at a very low price. The description states clearly:
--The 6F22 Mercury Cadmium battery feature an advanced formula mercury cadmium technology for long-lasting power which lasts up to 10 times longer than carbon zinc batteries. These can be used to power up your toys, flashlights, remote controls and smoke detectors.
* High energy density, long life
* Works in extreme temperatures
* Battery Type: Mercury Cadmium
* Battery Voltage: 9V, 250mAh
* Weight: 47g per battery
* Leak resistant construction
Problem is, MERCURY CADMIUM BATTERIES for some time now went out of production for environmental reasons and high cost. The battery photograph shows printed clearly: 0% MERCURY - CADMIUM.
I email them this paradox and I got a vague response. Out of curiosity I did ordered the battery and it arrived promptly. Sure enough it was an ordinary zinc battery. Naturally I left negative feedback.
Now he is offering me a refund to change the feedback but he will not change his claims:

Dear xenofon666,
The item we have in stok is as described on the listing, there looks to have been a picking and packing error when we sent you your item out, so the best thing we can offer is a full refund and you can keep the item as a freebie. I wait your response.
Regards, - e_cell
WHAT A GREAT AND GENEROUS OFFER!!!!

Are Ecell and Elcell the same?

Thanks for all this information, great work!

I also wanted to know if ecell and elcell are the same?

and is the below link to their website?

and to answer your questions, yes and yes. e_cell is the ebay trading name of elcell.

e-cell is such a stupid,

e-cell is such a stupid, scamming cunt, I wanna tear them down!

I purchased and returned a

I purchased and returned a phone on the same day it arrived (which was delivered late) and the following debacle ensured. I won't state why the phone wasn't suitable and it isn't important. My advice is stay cool and do everything you need to in the correct order. Personal info and tracking numbers removed.

• 15/06/2010 – Phone xxx - Buy It Now
o Paid immediately with PayPal – PayPal - (PayPal Unique Transaction ID #xxx)

• Estimated delivery listed as 6-7 business days
o 22/06/2010 - Received notification that item had shipped on (5 business days after order/payment)
o 24/06/2010 - Received another notification that item had been shipped, email contained a Royal Mail tracking number (xxx) (7 business days after order/payment)
o 28/06/2010 – Package arrived (9 business days after order/payment)

• Attempting to return item. Determined that the item would not actually meet my needs.
o 28/06/2010 – Email E-Cell asking for returns particulars
o 29/06/2010 – Email back from E-Cell stating that an ‘administration fee’ would be payable on return because the item was as described and eBay listing fees had been paid by the company
o 29/06/2010 – Emailed E-Cell reminding them of the ‘Distance Selling Regulations’ and that provided the goods were in ‘as delivered’ condition that no fee would be applicable. I would remain liable for the cost of returning the goods however.
o 30/06/2010 – Email back from E-Cell apologising for the previous unlawful demand. A returns address was provided and a returns reference number for their internal use. I despatched the item, clearly labelled and well packaged, using Royal Mail Special Delivery, tracking # xxx.
o 01/07/2010 – Email from E-Cell once again apologising. Stated that returns are processed and dealt with within five business days of receipt of the item.
o 02/07/2010 – Package signed for by ‘xxx’ at 10:54.
o 12/07/2010 – No refund as yet. Emailed E-Cell asking for an update on proceedings.
o 13/07/2010 – Email from E-Cell confirming that the package had been received but that an ‘admin fee’ would be payable (again citing reasons such as eBay listing fees to cover) despite having earlier apologised for making the illegal demand and claiming it was a ‘mistake’.
o 13/07/2010 – Emailed E-Cell again reminding them that their position contravenes the Distance Selling Regulations applicable for this transaction and asking them to consider their position again on the issue. Outlined that I was reluctant to go through the PayPal dispute system but would be forced to if their position remained unchanged.
o 16/07/2010 – Email from E-Cell stating that a ‘full refund’ had been requested for the transaction in question and to wait 24-48 hours for this to be completed.
o 21/07/2010 – No action from E-Cell. Opening eBay dispute.
o 22/07/2010 – Response from E-Cell through the resolution centre:
Seller's message:
"Hi, The refund processing is already in place. Please allow 2-5business days. For you to get your money back. We strive to provide quality service and look forward to serving you in the future. We appreciate if you could leave us a positive feedback for rectifying the issue. Regards"
o 31/07/2010 – Refund has not arrived. Response to E-Cell through the Resolution Centre: ‘Over five business days have elapsed – refund has not arrived’.
o 03/08/2010 – Response from E-Cell through Resolution Centre:
Seller's message:
"Hi, Sorry to hear that you do not have the refund yet, we will be making a follow up on this request. Once the refund is processed, you will be receiving a notification via email. Regards,"
o 11/08/2010 – Refund has not arrived. Response to E-Cell through the Resolution Centre: ‘Over five business days have elapsed - no email contact or refund has been received.’
o 12/08/2010 – Response from E-Cell through Resolution Centre:
Seller's message:
"Hi, Thanks for getting back to us regarding this matter. As a stated before, a refund has been requested in your behalf and our accounts department was already given an instruction to issue a refund as soon as they finish necessary paper works. Regards"
o 21/08/2010 – No refund or email. Escalated case via eBay Resolution Centre:
Your message to Customer Support:
"My original Resolution Centre submission is in the form of a timeline in bullet points. For clarity please copy of the text into a word processor and use the return key to view it in the form of bullet points. The package in question was actually unopened - I packaged it within another, larger, padded package for return. I do not believe this seller has any intention of refunding my money as evidenced by their earlier, illegal, demands and continual responses of 'wait another five days'. I have given the seller sufficient time to refund my money in full. I initially contacted the seller directly, then via the Resolution Centre and now sadly I have no option but to escalate."
o 22/08/2010 – eBay Resolution Centre case closed.
Refund information:
We have issued a refund of £xxx.xx to the PayPal account you used to purchase this item. View PayPal transaction- opens in a new window or tab
Final decision:
This case has been decided in your favour.
Customer Support comments:
"Case closed."

e-cell's latest victim!

Hi,

Sad but true but I bought a Blackberry Curve 8900 for £234.98 and not only did I never receive it but now I don't realistically foresee them issuing my very, very over due refund (4 months now and counting), even they have clearly stated on numerous occasions that they would! So what can be done? Would contacting the Lancashire Police Dept. be a viable option or is there a particular department that deals with this?

I look forward to a response, and unlike in other circumstances it isn't good to know that I'm not alone on this same, unfortunate boat.

Hi

Hi Dustin,

posted this forum topic just now: http://fotios.org/node/2473 I have made a link to it at the very top of this page as well.

This is the distillation of the collective wisdom on how to get back at these clowns, gathered over the past couple of years on this forum.

Good luck mate!

I just paid for a iPhone 4G,

I just paid for a iPhone 4G, and I send a PayPal payment of "£599.99". I got an message from the sellers:

"Thank you for contacting and informing us about this matter. We would like to inform you that we cannot send you the item as it is not verified on your PayPal account and if we would do so, it will be a breach in our contract with PayPal and forfeits our Seller's Protection.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. Should you have further inquiries, please let us know.

Kind regards,
Janice".

I tried to call their number +44 8712000499 and each voice prompt is rigged to hang up. I have filed a report with PayPal, Ebay, and my Credit Card company. I am going to email the CEO of Ebay too.

Nokia n900

I have also had a problem with these people who took my money and then failed to deliver. They blaimed the Post Office. I got a refund through PayPal. I also noticed that their high satifaction score is based upon cheap items with a huge negative comments on non delivery of high value items. I resent EBAY for allowing this Company to cheat people and put them to huge inconvenience before managing to get a refund. It is theft to use people's money, if you borrowed imoney from a bank you would have to pay interest. It is EBAY'S LOSS BECAUSE I AM NOW VERY WARY about ordering on this site.
