So, what would be the rationale behind a one hour diff between weekdays and Saturday super market closing hours? In my opinion, there's no rationale; this is just a relic of a battle long lost by the Unionists - yet, it is still observed in countries like Greece as it is required by law. All that it does however is cause frustration and inconvenience by having everybody remember (or not) two sets of times, instead of just one, while the benefit to the employees is insignificant. This is very detrimental to the simple rules based determinism that modern societies thrive on. Still, I have seen worse! In Italy some stores were closing 15 minutes earlier on Fridays. Unionist fetishism?
Beyond that, what is really irritating is normal people's surprise at others who happen to not be aware of these time diffs. "What, you did not know?" mouth agape. Yeah you fucking simpletonic moron, I did not know! There's places in this world (places you think exist only in TV universe) where these rules either do not exist or are different. So shut the fuck up and go shove in that open mouth of yours the local disgustingly traditional version of food you were force-feeding conditioned to. Morons!
