Without love

When cold rain falls on your head
And indifferent wind lashes your face
What are you without the knowledge
that her heart beats waiting for you
her smile shining through the window?
Nothing

And after solving it all
and building it better
Beyond what the average guy could
What are you without that kiss
That she would give you regardless?
Nothing

And in the night
when you wake up confused
with the walls hanging
heavy with darkness
What are you without her warm body
to hold onto tight?
Nothing

And during Christmas or Halloween
when all are happy and content
and swarms of couples flood the streets
what are you without her to share
to talk, to hold, to laugh, to kiss?
Nothing

Looming is the need for Love
and to acknowledge it not
is like gluing your gloves on
So many things to touch and hold
And yet all feel the same old
same old Nothing, without love
